Never, ever use disk washing soap to clean your car unless you want to remove all the wax.

Dishwashing soap is good if you get oil or road grime sprayed on the front of your car but you'll have to wax it right after the wash.

Um, actually - dishwashing soap is extremely abrasive. It feels all slick and smooth when wet but will swirl and tear hell out of your clearcoat. Don't get it within 50 feet of any car you love.

I thought you were supposed to use an 80 grit sand paper dipped in dish washing soap... hmmm... guess I was doing it wrong! At least I got rid of the paint issue my 300A has by doing it! Unfortunately my car now looks like gray primer...

Dry newspaper works wonders on a black car. You'll never notice a new scratch again.

All seriousness aside, as a little kid in the 50's, I thought I was doing my dad a favor by wiping the dirt off his dark green 47 Nash...with the morning newspaper.

He was p****d.

And after you wash make sure you get a bathroom towel to make sure it's dried up nice and use a lil vinegar in the water to get a pleasant smell:lol:
