View Full Version : Odd A/C problem...

I replaced the O-rings in the unit a while ago, worked awesome... now I have a different problem.

The blower motor will only blow on the high setting. AUTO, MAX A/C, FLOOR.... whatever I put it on and no matter the degree the blower motor will kick on and eventually work its way up to full blast and stay there.

Most mornings when the car is cold... it will turn on an work normally until it needs to start blowing air faster... the blower will turn up and stay there.

I also noticed when I hit some bumps the blower motor speed changes but then goes back up to full blast.

I know being in FL this isn't as bad as having NO A/C at all but it is still annoying.

Any ideas? New A/C Control unit?

Resistor in the blower motor assembly, IIRC will cause this...

It's not the easiest thing to replace.

Its the little box behind the passenger side valve cover. It can be cleaned (or re-soldered) before actually replacing it.

I just had mine replaced at dealer...wasn't cheap, but it was easy!

As I said in the other post from a different OP, my daughter replaced mine, the part was $55.
