Marauder-Specific Parts List

Heya folks,

With the MM becoming older and fewer examples even surviving every day, I thought it would be a good idea for those of us who plan on keeping them for awhile to start a list of parts that are specific to the Marauder. That way, when you come across a wreck or some aftermarket sales, you can pick up a deal on something that may be near impossible to get in a handful of years.http://www.motorcitymarauders.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif

I realize that ebay has a good deal of aftermarket stuff, but who knows for how long, and of what quaility the items are.

I'll start with the very few I know about, feel free to add others. I'll regularly edit the list in the first post to act as a complete thread summary. I'll try to organize the list as best I can to make it easy to read.

Also, if you can list any substitute OEM parts (eg foglights from the Mazdas, stock stereos from other Fords) that will replace or upgrade existing parts, please add those as well.

The Marauder is a parts bin car...

with that being said the only things that are really Marauder specific are the:
front and rear covers
rims
headlamps
side marker lamps
rear tail lamp panel

everything else came from either the continental(consol), town car(steering wheel), cv, gm and a few others.

The only thing that "really" makes things Marauder specific would be the interoir colors charcol and light flint.

I understand the point you're trying to make, but I believe you're wrong. Everything else didn't come from other cars. For example, the alternator and the master cylinder are made specifically and only for the MM. If you've ever had to source some out, you'd know that. You can't cross parts from another OEM Ford part without making serious mods to them, and even getting a rebuild kit for an MM alternator is very difficult.

These are the types of parts that I'm talking about. If I'm wrong about either the M.C. or the alt, please give me sources to back up your cross-parts listing.

i cant see why the MC would be different. the brake system is the same on all panthers. as for the alt, i would think it would just be the pulley on it since its just a 4g alt.

i think you pretty much got the exterior right

suspension is the same on all similar year panthers

the interior has alot of unique things, like the seat covers dash trim, gauge cluster floor mats, im sure theres a few more

The tail lights are marauder specific also. There actually a slightly darker shade of red than the crown vic.

not the police interceptor versions which is where the Marauder taillights came from.

Wonderful, thanks for chipping in. The Marauder specific parts are what this thread is for. Was I not clear enough by asking "What parts are Marauder specific?". I don't care how many or how few, I just want to make a list. I re-checked the M/C, and it is a different Ford parts number from the other Panther M/C's. Same with the alternator and it's rebuild kit, something to do with the regulator it seems. Thread back on topic.
