Bought my Marauder on Saturday and took it to work this morning. I just love the attention it gets.

In our parking lot we have several BMW's including a new 750il, a few Mercedes benz, 2 corvettes, an infinity G35, And a GT mustang. None of these cars ever got the attention this thing gets. On several occasions today I would look up through the window to see someone standing next to the car. 10 people came up to my desk to ask "is that yours?" "what is it?" "that looks soo nice".

Took 3 friends to lunch and just let it rip up a ramp. The sound! what is that whine at 5000RPM's? the timing chains? such a unique sound...

word got around now everyone wants a ride!

Gawd this is fun!:coolman:

Heavy351, I was told that is the hydraulic pumps in the tranny working hard.

In the tranny? really? never would have guessed that..

Wild sort of mechanical sound that is just not there till 5000.

Is that what you are referring to?

Uh, that sound is a good thing right?

For me it is a mounting high pitch whine that starts right about 5000 RPM.

My 1-2 shift takes the tranny back below that point until I get to 5000ish RPM again and it starts again.

Sorta starts as a high pitch whine then gets a little higher in pitch and louder as it goes faster.

I did a test drive with frdwrnch in his MM before getting mine and asked him the same question and he said it was the pumps in the tranny. No concerns. Someone will post soon confirming or correcting.

I just tell people it's the flux capacitor kicking in.

Heavy351,

The multi-faceted chrome wheels, and the menacing look of the raked stance, I think, are the attention getters. You may have to resort to "NO LEANING" caution signs for the parking lot.

Expect to spend some time the gas pumps answering questions too.

You are right about the wheels, a few have asked are they aftermarket. You have to say it twice "no, it came just like that"

I have already started parking in in the space farthest from the front door.

That was the sound of your passengers gasping for breath as you put the pedal to the floor. Just tell them to relax and breath normal. :D

I think word is getting out....now people ask me, "Is that a Marauder? That's an awesome car". A year ago it was "What is that?" or just blank stares.

She still clears out the left lane nicely, though!

Please refine your location for us. There are numerous owners on the board in and around PA. It is in fact the tranny pump whine, and it is a good thing. I ran across that question and answer early in my membership to the greatest BB on the net.

Enjoy the car, the stares, and questions!

I live out in farm country 30 miles due east of Pittsburgh next to a town called Delmont.

Lots of long, winding, traffic free backroads to cruise on.

lately I am finding myself walking into conversations about the car here at work "it's a cop car" "its a crown vic with the optional wheels" "he bought a police package" As you can see I really don't work with car people. They don't understand it but they like it.

BTW where would I find the "born on date" window sticker?

It's not on the sticker. Any dealer service dept. can bring it up on their computer. It also shows on all service repair orders from the dealer.
