Not really certain what you're looking for.

Going the higher rear gear will lower your rpms at higher speeds, but if you're going to run consistently over 100 mph, you'll want to go to a carbon fiber or MMX driveshaft.

Also, performance from a dead stop will be impacted, much slower response.

i would not do this b/c, i had a mercury grand marquis, and mercury marauder- took both on same trips ,to new york city ... the mm always beat grand marquis, by couple mpg every time !!! i think b/c mm has more power and torque, uses less gas !! the grand marquis had the handiling/perf. package, with the 3.27 rear...

At least one of the Marauder owners on the site has done that swap and he loves it.

You will have to get the gear ratio changed in the tune so the speedometer reads correctly.

That's going to be a doooooooog off the line. You might get 1 or 2 miles more to the gallon on the highway.

Most of us would have bought a smart car or Prisus if we wanted better gas mileage.

Rpm on highway is too much with 3.55.

Well it sounds like you are 125Mph+ a lot.

Try getting the 2.79 rear axle, rpm much lower on highway.
You need a http://www.sctflash.com too.

Or maybe a 3.00:1 would be ok too.

I assume this is for high speed driving on long straight stretches across the desert in Saudi Arabia?

If I were driving it daily mostly on a highway i'd drop the gearing. The car has plenty enough power.

good inf the 32 valve is good for saving the gas but bad in the city right

so thank you all

i just ask because my axle is broken and the 3.27 is cheap than 3.55

so i just ask

and i don't want change to 3.27 for speed just for low rpm's and save some gas

because maybe i buy cobra or Shelby

i have another think if the battery broken or weak how i now ...
because so times i find the gauge for the voltmeter go down the 12v or 11v
so if i change the battery did that will solve the problem

sorry for noice the forums

have a nice day to every one

2K RPM steady at 65MPH.... which is perfect...

your marauder gonna ROLL SLOW with those 3.27's

Sounds like your alternator is going bad.

I frequently see low voltage at idle. Get a tune and raise the idle speed to 800 rpm.

i do that ... i rise the rpm to 700

but when i check the volt from the battery i found it 13.7 but when i check it from pcm i found it 13 when i open the a/c and headlight is going to 12 or 11.5

You "may buy a Cobra or a Shelby", but you are worried about the cost difference between 3.27 and 3.55 gears? Sheeeeeeeyaaaaaahright.

Stay 3.55 gears.

Agreed, I would definitely stay with 355's, but if you need 327's, I've got a set of OEM ford gears I could sell ya.
