Has anyone wired their radar detector into a switched power source in the overhead console? If so, can you post details of where you wired into switched power? Maybe how to pull the console down, too.
If needed, mine is an 04 without a sunroof.
Thanks

I did it to Dennis (hotrauder)'s car. Don't have pics and can't remember where. Bust out the multimeter! What you need is in there.

It's easy just to run the power wire under the headliner and down under the drivers side pillar post cover. The fuse box is on that side.

Take out the front screw and the two in the sunglass holder. Grasp console firmly and pull down. It is held in place with many clips as is everything else on this car.

Switched 12v power is the violet/orange wire and ground is the solid black. I also ran a 3 amp inline fuse.

To tuck the wire I put a tiny notch in the console in the front where it can not be seen all the way up at the top where it touches the headliner.

It's much easier to just tap power off the rear view mirror automatic dimming wires. They are exposed in a rubber wrapping at the mirror support. Be careful the wires are small and require care to solder, but doable. This is how I have my Beltronics radar detector installed. This is an ignition switch on power source.
