Has anyone installed an RS4 performance chip into their MM, & if so were you happy with the results as advertised? I'm thinking of installing one as an inexpensive way of boosting the horsepower , torque on my 03 MM, the advertiser claims it works & doesn't effect the car's computer in any way. Would I be wasting my money or damaging the engine in any way? Thanks for any replies!!:)

Those chips are garbage!
You need to get a tune from one of our vendors, Lidio, Reinhart or Wes. Chips were the rave when the car first came out now it's all done quick and easy with a hand-held flash tuner that comes with preloaded tunes.

Thanks for the advise, maybe I'll just go with a cold air intake & 410 gears !

You'll still need a tune for the 4.10 gears to work properly to correct the speedometer and shift schedule of the transmission, without a tune you are not getting the full benefit of the gears and all. Depending on how close you are to NY you might want to talk with Blackened300a since I think he has a local tuner.

It's 4.10 gears and you'll still need a tune to take into account the different gearing.

Better off going with the tune, and having a 4.10 gear tune loaded on the tuner as well. That way, you get the performance benefits of a tune right now, and can upgrade when you get the gears.

The first improvement for thr car is a hand held Tuner, I sell them, Wess sells them, and Lidio then start from there.:)

Plug 'n Play, very simple.
Contact any of the vendors, they can give you the specifics, but prices should be around $400 or less, and well worth it.

Irish, take Dennis up on his offer. He can give you some good, straightforward info on the Xcal, how they work, and what kind of performance enhancements you can expect.

Thanks Dennis , I looked at your website & will definitely call you about the Tuner you recommended. To be honest all this new technology on these computerized engines, baffles me, I'm "ole school", & used to doing our simple tune-ups on our 50's & 60's Fords & Chevy's , & can appreciate any advice on doing some mods. on my 03 MM, thanks again!:)

STS tuning here in Long Island NY or there is a new tuner in Bayonne NJ that is supposed to be pretty good.
The hardware you can buy off of ebay or used from another member to save some money.

Sir, it's too bad you weren't doing mail order into Canada. The fact that you are willing to assist someone even they don't buy from you should be recognized.
Kudos to you.
