I'm lost on how many quarts of trans oil the marauder needs? If one drops the pan, drains the plug and changes the tranny filter, how many quarts will it need when refilling through the dipstick? I thought it was 5 or something?

Its about 5-6.
When you drop the valve body 9-10 drain out. Wait overnight and it will almost all drain out.

Can't remember for sure, I wanna say 5-6.
The jmod takes a minimum of 9 because you are removing the valve body, even more quarts if you flush out the trans cooler.
I hear ya Dave! I kept mine too as a souvenier for freaking out like a girly man:eek:
EDIT: Zacks fast tonight!

I 2nd NOT using RP. Emphatically even.
I do like synthetics if you beat the hell out of it or have a fully built transmission and converter though. I use Mobil 1 in those cases. I have exactly zero experience or opinion on Amsoil.

I used to use it alot, and could tell the differences thier products made. It also made large dents in my wallet so I stopped. Price a full oil/filter change with thier products, ouch. Full tranny flush, double ouch.

As long as the fluid you use meets the Mercon V specs use it regardless of who makes / bottles it.
A fully synthetic fluid such as RP has been known to make the clutches lose their 'grippy' qualities because the fluid is well...too slippery.
I cant make this stuff up.

Just dropped the pan, and nothing fell out. There is a Black hold down arm from the shift mech. going across to the dr. side of the valve body, wat is this?

Then all that means is your tranny has been serviced Brian. The lolly pop was removed from the pan.

Mine didn't fall out either. It's been over a year since I did mine, but the directions were a nice guide IIRC.
