So when does it max out?

Was on my way home from Chicago about a half hour ago and decided to romp around a bit. I hit the 140MPH mark and I could tell it still had a lot more to give....had to slow down due to traffic.

Just on a tune how far will it go? :P

Sounds like you were on I-55.

They are known to do 160.

Back on topic, I did the math, several years ago so my memory may be a little off. I figured 300 rwhp, 3.55 gears, 7000 rpm, 4400 lbs. and came up with 174 mph. I didn't figure aerodynamics in, which would slow a box like ours down a bit. The 167 roadside sign is a photoshop, I've been seeing it for years with different cars making the claim. My best guess is you are going to "hit the wall" at around 149. Not too many street cars get the "buck and a half" mark. Guys with the 4.10's, somewhat less than that.

140+ Got the local Police Chief to get one of the new police cars and had a 5 mile road blocked off. We started from a stop and the MM walked him from the beginning. He fall off at 120+ and I ran the rest of the road alone. I'm happy. The chief wanted MM's for his officers. Shijack

My car did 149 mph on the dyno, 3rd gear to 6200 rpms.

That is true not too many cars on the road can reach that range whether because of mechanically or electronically controlled.

Dyno is not trying to punch a hole in the air. On the dyno, you'd probably get the 174 mph.

Ya also have to take into account what fuel pump you are running....... I don't no how fast I was going in my black Marauder(needle was buried), but I hit a fuel wall, and the engine cut out.... Did that once. Did not want to risk the side effect of a blown up engine trying it again. This was after the 4.10 install too. My guess it was around 144 mph. The run was around 5 miles.

Amazing how little time it takes to cover that distance at those speeds.:burnout:

Their was a story 2-3 years ago that a FHP Officer caught a Bike doing 155 mph. The question you have to ask your self is how fast was he going. Also if my memory serves me right their was a post of someone in the Northern states who was clocked on radar on a New Highway not open yet doing 186 MPH.

Had an OPP. ( Ontario Provincial Police) officer do a highway test ...he was driving my Marauder it has 4:10 gears & a vortec with Kooks & Magna Flows... He had it buried & still climbing.. speedo goes to 220 Kilometers per hour. My Marauder was climbing up on the tach like heck. I saw nothing but a blurr when I told him to shut it down... still had 1000rpm on the tach. I figure we hit 145 mph. I went home & checked my shorts. These cops have NO FEAR> but I sure do. PS no danger to the public we were on a paved back road.

Not on the street. It just shows I care about my car and the others driving on the road.

I got mine up to 135 a few hours ago before I chickened out, the car was just cruising. And there were no other cars in any danger as I was on the george bush turnpike. Nobody using those things. Car is running good tho, Im happy
