Im just curious what you guys are paying for Motorcraft OEM coils. The deal charges $100 and I can't get motorcraft coils from my local parts store.

Quick internet search:

Granatelli - 8 for $475.00

Granatelli (same as above) - %51.95 each

eBay has coils to fit a Ford GT for $19.95, Mustang / Marauder for $19.95 and some with higher prices.

OK, I actually guess I did understand this thread! LOL

Wow, I never knew they were that pricey! I checked mine to see if they were all firing on the valve cover bolts and they were.

What cars have compatible coils to ours when looking on eBay?

Mustangs with 4.6l 4v engines. I think the 5.4l coils will work also. There might be others.

Tousley ford $45 oem. If you want I got a few good used ones you can have until you decide on the new coils. These are from when I thought the missfire was coming from the coils and plugs. I bought a new set of oem motorcraft plugs for $110 musclemerc hooked me up.

try looking through summit racing online

They have their own brand (Granatelli) Summit, MSD, Accell, and others .

The Accell coils cost me $193 for a set of eight, better than factory.

I may jump on this to have some spares.

I trust the OEM coils over any aftermarket ones after all the stories I hear about misfires and idle issues. I was just checking some other ideas other then getting ripped at a dealer.

O'Reilly Auto parts sells the same coils that come stock. The supplier just grinds the Ford logo off of them. Much cheaper route that OEM for the same thing.

I personally do not trust Granatelli or Summit brands. Cheap knock offs that would most likely not meet OEM specs.
