Just got the word from GordonB that there WILL NOT be a car show at Safford Lincoln-Mercury in Silver Spring, MD this year. :( GordonB spoke to the folks at Safford and there have been some serious cutbacks and budget cuts.

This has been a pretty good show for the Marauders from CAM for the past 5 years or so. Participation has been excellent with just under 20 MMs showing up to enjoy the day, hang with friends and partake of the free food, drink and all day entertainment. We were always treated extremely well by the management at Safford --- and of course, we liked the raffle prizes, big cash awards, and trophies in the Marauder class. :D

So for those of you who were wondering --- the June 2010 Safford L-M Car Show is not happening this year.

Maybe next year?? :dunno:

Sorry to hear that. :( It is always a fun CAM event followed by Tom's excellent cookout!
I bought my Marauder from Safford LM and they gave me a very good deal back in December 2002.
Plus I won a $500 raffle at last year's event!
I hope that they make it through these tough economic times.

FORD needs to give Lincoln-Mercury some neat cars with good engines...like a 'Cougar 5.0' and a real Lincoln luxury car.
That jelly bean looking Continental hasn't changed in 20 years.
How about some good names also!??
MKX, MKZ, MKS, MKT...MK-whatever! WTF!
Give them a name that people can remember!
Only VW has worse names for vehicles.

:mad2:...rant over...thanks for the update Charlie.

Sorry gang, The Safford show is down and my dad died and I have to sell off a killer retirement pad in State Collage Pa. I'm too young to move in and my sisters live on the west coast, so I must dump a swell set up cheap, fast! I have been busting my butt with painters, wood floor people, art appraisers, university's around the world that want his collections.... and the place goes on sale June 13th. I have been on unemployment commuting back and forth weekly. He was a STUD, 6'7", the smartest person many of friends ever met and loved to debate with him, he was fun for his intellect. When you were red in the face screaming your point of view he would say "so much of what you think is true just Isn't so" and then chop your argument to bits. Many times in far away places my friends would say "get your dad on the phone" to end a fight. Here is his obituary, It helps to read between the lines for all you spooks.;)

Tom, I'm sorry to hear about your father's passing.
I read the link and your dad had an incredible life....What a career and what a man!

Maybe we should have a 'fill-in' CAM meet at Red, Hot & Blue?

Tom,
I am also sorry to hear of your dad's passing. What a life he led!
Sorry it falls to you to have to deal with his house and belongings.
If I can help you some weekend, holler at me and I'll give you a hand.
