I believe the whole rear panel is one piece. Moulding, backup lights, panel...

+1, My rear molding snapped in half and I had to locate a entire panel to replace it. I found a chrome molding and painted it but it looked like hell after a year so a new panel was the easiest way to go.
One pops up from time to time or maybe someone will chime in who has one.

Yes it does come as one piece, I went to ford yesterday hoping to drop a couple bucks on a piece of molding and was told 225 for entire rear panel!! ouch!! May visit the local bone yard this weekend, I never paid that close of attention to the rear of a merc marquis,, is the same molding on that car?
Thanks, Roger

I believe the GM has a reflective section where the MM is black.
A CVPI rear panel will have the black trim piece and black panels but the backup lights will be clear instead of dark. That's probably the closest non-Marauder part that exists.

If you get a CV or GM rear trunk plate the reverse lights are not smoked

It ( P71 trunk panel ) will also have 2 emblem alignment indentations on the LH ( driver ) side.

Im hoping to be able to just replace the molding and keep everything else intact, the entire rear is perfect besides that darn molding!

Good luck. You're likely to break the replacement piece taking it apart.

Is the spoiler still broken? I made you an offer on a whole black decklid with rear applique and spolier. Is my price for it seeming cheap now that you found out what the parts cost at the dealer?
None the less, good luck with your bone yard search, I am sure something will turn up.

How about the CV Sport?

FordNut - How about the CV Sport?
Same situation ( emblem alignment indentations ).
Should have noted that all of the Crown Victoria models have the emblem alignment indentations.
Besides ... A BLACK LX Sport trunk panel co$ts ~ $200 MORE than that of a Marauder. *Wholesale - $415 versus $230 / Retail - $577 versus $319.

Thanks for all the advice,, I went to the bone yard and managed to find the molding from a crown vic"$5" with a little careful pulling I got it to pop off,, black paint and clear coat and now the rear end looks normal again. I would have went the route of the entire new rear panel but I just bought this car and had to spend a little more than I thought just to get it running properly. Thank goodness for a understanding wife or I would be sleeping in the car by now!!
Next weekend I will attempt to fix the ac blowing out of the defrost vent!
Once again thanks to everyone on this site for all the helpful tips.

I have a CV rear reflector panel on my Marauder. NO alignment holes or depressions. The only difference is the reverse light lenses are not tinted.
Or do I have the rare and elusive factory non-darkened variation for some niche market where tint is forbidden?
It's better than running the broken panel and nobody (but me) seems to notice. But then again, nobody seemed to notice when I had a black CVPI reflector panel and tail lights (so the lower trim would match) on there for a couple of weeks while I was looking for the correct DTR panel.
