Yesterday I pumped the most fuel ever into the Marauder.
The lamp came on in the 320 mi. range, according to the Misses.
I filled it on the way home from work the following day.
The gauge still showed the needle touching the red bar and was about 15 miles since the low fuel lamp came on.
the car took 19.602 gallons on 339.6 miles of mostly city driving.
based on the gauge the car still had a little fuel remaining.

Never even gotten close to that....I'd get in trouble if I did >>> RFO. Sounds like you were driving on fumes. I don't know the exact capacity. I would be especially concerned because of the BAP.

Just remembered I had the order sheet for the Marauder.

2003: FUEL TANK — 19.0 gallon capacity
2004: FUEL TANK — 19.0 gallon capacity

Hmm...if that is correct, could the gas station you used need their tanks calibrated? Great scam to get more money out of you.

It has a 1 gallon reserve according to my dealership that is not calibraded into the PCM so people get gas before it runs out.

I asked the same question one time when I ran into that situation @ the pumps doing a round trip to Philly.

I believe the tank itself is 19 gallons, but all the way up to the filler neck equates to about 20. For me, the low fuel light comes on when I've got about 50 miles left in her. With 410's I get around 300 miles out of a tank.

The capacity is 19 gallons. I guess you squeezed all you can (and then some) in there. I've only put in 17 gallons one time.

My fuel light comes on when it has about 3 gallons left. I've never been able to add over r16.5 gallons on a fill-up.

This same tank has yielded 325 miles and over a 1/4 remaining mostly highway.
I still say there was another gallon remaining when I refueled.

I have called FOUL at certain gas stations who have been caught selling "SMALL GALLONS".....it happens A LOT folks!!:argue:

They set the pumps to deliver 0.9 of a gallon and call it a gallon.....extra 10% in there pocket and nobody ever seems to complain!!:shake:

I suspect in and around Chicago it's fairly commonplace!!

This last tank of fuel netted 378.6 mi. on 18.89 gal.
This is the first time I have seen 20+ MPG for the Marauder in a long time!

Last fill was 18.3 @ 300.6 mi. and no low fuel lamp came on.

Have you checked to make sure the fuel light is operational? I wouldn't want to be that close to burning the fuel pump out because it uses the fuel in the tank to keep cool.

the past tank is one of the few that the low fuel lamp was not on.
I suppose anything is possible.
Yeah I know about the pump being in the tank.
I want a better pump for more boost!

I had my 2003 Marauder for about 3 months, everytime I pump gas at $3.49 a gallon so it takes around $65 no more, with the needle stock way below the E, after 350 miles the Low Fuel lights comes on, 30 miles later the car will turn off, thats 380 miles, thats not bad for a V8, Besides I love my Marauder...

It's not a good idea to let the tank get that low. Fuel cools and lubricates the pump and it doesn't like running dry.

Did 18 before. When light cones on I usually go 35 miles after

I had to do it at least one time so I can know exactly how far I can go after the Low Fuel lights comes on in case of an emergency, I don't plan on doing it everyday

I always re-fuel at 1/2 mark, that way is the dollar amount is not through the roof:)

Now when I am heading out for a few hunderd mile romp I will re-fuel at 1/4 mark.

I've pumped 18.5 gallons once. And never again. To scary seeing the needle below the "E" line.

I have pumped over 19 gallons of fuel in my 01 crown Vic on quite a few occasions.

I just always assumed these cars had 20gal. tanks in them.
