Hey guys, being a noob here.. Just bought my MM back in February and was wondering how much of an improvement I will see with these mods.
JLT Cold air intake (or perhaps K&N)
4:10 Gears
And a tune.
I know there will be a noticeable improvement, but I will need to know if I will be able to keep up with the new 2011 Mustang GT's (4.6 seconds, in my dreams I know)

Won't even be close to that, maybe like 6 seconds or something like that

Jlt should cut about .2 secs, tune about .4 to .6 secs, 4.10's from what I hear about .3 secs so in all you'll probally get around a full second knocked off and by the way these are the best mods to even consider for the car!

high stall torque converter would work wonders as well :)

So what you're saying is I should make sure my RPM's are low around the stangs :alone:

Your going up against a lighter weight car with much better tech built into it and a larger engine.
It take's money and mods to match that in a car that weighs in @ 2 ton's without you in it.
YOu just have to catch them snoozing @ the wheel not expecting you to be serious about it, the run that is.

Yeah, I know.. It was more of a joke.
4.6 seconds is pretty fast.
I know I've got them in the grocery / baby seat department though.

On the highway the secret is to come up on them nice and easy and don't pull up far enough where they can not hear the exhaust.
You sit beside them and give them the thumbs up as your turning off the over drive and see them smile back then you give it all she has and watch their jaws drop before reality sets in by then it is too late you already made them look seriously bad!

Or more. An off the shelf Trilogy only averages 380 RWHP. Your still 20 or so WHP away from a lighter car.

Yeah but forced induction is much of a difference over n/a! Claudes car has a trilogy with 4.10's, 3.2 pulley and he runs 12.2 in the quarter! There's a video on YouTube of it spanking a c6 vette.

Twin screw was 430 @ the wheels with the tune that was provided, 472 right now, I really need about 30 more HP. :burnout:

all I can say is I wouldn't mess with any Mustang until you get a blower. JustBob and I went at it Stock, and I was a full second ahead of him. He has done a ton since then, including a blower, all I added was a tune. He is now 1 second ahead of me, and that is before the new Mustang comes out. A blower and it's a good race

I think the 0-60 range is the only place you will have a chance with a new stang. Got a 50% chance they will not know how to drive and get ahead enough they cant catch back up.
I just got a 3500 stall converter and its still not fast enough for me lol.

I'm pretty sure you were the one who commented on my youtube video (same s/n and all...)

The only thing I have over what you listed was no cats and after-market mufflers and some mods to the Lidio tune whose effects have been disputed in other threads so take that with a grain of salt. Time out the 0-60 times with the timer on the vid, factor in I was in probably 75-80-ish degree weather with low humidity (south central texas) and you should probably have a pretty good guestimate of where you'll be at. Only other thing, when I shot the vid, it was two days before my transmission gave in, and I've noticed a MUCH stronger and smoother pull with the trans being rebuilt, but that's another one of those "take with a grain of salt" situations.
