Yesterday the marauder overheated in the driveway, just after I got back from running a few errands, when to the shop today and found the fan motor is bad and the part from Ford is $509.00. Anyone else have one go bad? 50K on the clock.
You can get a motor from any Crown Vic in the junkyard for 20 bucks.

Definitely go this route. I have 105k on mine and have never had the fan motor go. I would say you should be able to get a good amount of time out of a motor from the junk yard. Get a car with low miles that has a decent looking motor free of rust or corrosion. Check the plugs to make sure they are clean for plug and play.

Check with a FLAPS. I bought a used fan motor for a '97 T-Bird from Advanced Auto Parts and they gave me a 90 warranty.

I've had two go out on separate vehicles one at 110K another at 37K(out of warranty). Blue Springs Ford has the OEM part for about $150.00 less.

Slow down will you! That is Ford price for the complete unit, shroud, fan, motor, etc..... It caught me off gaurd and I thought I would post up to see if anyone had an issue with the fan motor going bad. I am on vacation this week and the shop where I get my work done is very, very busy.
