View Full Version : I have to kick my wheel off... HARD!

I have to kick my front passenger wheel to get this thing off now. I don't mean like a little tap or a shove. I have to grab the fender with my hands with my butt on the fender pulling the fender to get more force while kicking the wheel. This was yesterday and today I had to do the same thing. I don't care that I have to do this, I am just concerned it will amount to further problems. Will it?

The only reason I think this is happening now is because of a massive pot hole I ran over the other day. Even when I blew out a tire last year because of a pot hole, it wasn't a problem getting the wheel to come off.

I did replace a lug last year on the side that is giving me the problem. I looked at it and it seems fine, but is there a chance I knocked it loose or could this be the wheel?

is there rust around the inside hub of the wheel? it wouldn't hurt to put a little anti-sieze on it. that's my best guess to why it's not coming off. i think you would know if something was binding and holding it on...? it would be hard to put back on too i would think.

that would be my guess as well. when i had my wheels powdercoated i had to sand it off where the wheel goes on the hub.

Hit the hub with a wire brush then anti-sieze it.

Always a good thing to do with any car especially ones that are driven year round or in weather.

It's pretty much the opposite. You are a quick one!

Popular mechanics just had a tip on this very situation. Loosen the lug nuts about 1 turn each and drive the car a few feet.

Just re-read your post. Sorry this only would apply to getting a wheel off that is held in place by rust not damage.
