My buddy is getting into photography, so in the interest of "practice making perfect", he wanted to try some automotive shots. So he, I, and one of our friends who has a WRX met up last night at 11pm at the parking garage near my house.

What follows is a first-try using a very basic setup. We didn't have a proper lighting rig, but we're going to go back in a few weeks and try again. Next time, we'll use a proper lighting setup and try to perfect some of these.

Still, I think these ones came out neat. Not bad for 90 minutes of standing around on a beautiful May night.

This shot came out kind of neat once I adjusted the lighting...

We went down a floor as the lower levels had better overhead lightning.

Accidental but still kinda cool.

Then we tried a reflection shot with the WRX.

Some people might cringe at the reflection, the view of the interior, the mirror blocking part of my car...but I like it (other than my fat ass standing in the background, blocking out a spotlight).

There are definitely a few backgrounds the Marauder complements during photography & the industrial / urban environment is one.

After Easter Mass this year, the family and I jumped into the Marauder and took a drive over to White Sands National Park. (lived here almost 3 years & never been there) Took some good pictures of my highly polished :coolman:, Black 03 Marauder, with the white sand dunes in the background. Looked awesome...will post them on a new thread tonight when I get home.

Interesting shots.

If your using a digital camera get into the controls and change the light setting to tungsten and/or florescence type of lighting and see what happens.

Thanks guys.
I also like the orange/yellow light. Kinda gives it a sepia-esque look to it (in my opinion). The guy who took the pictures used something that I can't remember what he called, but apparently he will be able to remove all of the orange and bring these pictures to true color when he loads them in to his computer.

The color of the lightning is due to the lights in the parking garage. They actually are orange! The garage was built in the 70s and the fixtures haven't been swapped out since then. Needless to say...they have turned a very ugly color.

I've been wanting to do some night shots of the MM, but this whole area isn't all that great for night time lighting.

I'd say I like the first pic the best, I like the whole spotlight look. Cool pics!

Man, you know I love your car but those pictures are ehhhhh. If anything, I was getting better shots with my S5 when I came up there last year or whenever.
