Alright I phrased the question wrong in the other thread. I need to know what size tires you guys have up front. I know the rear is a bit more forgiving. I have been finding a ton of tires on-line, but they are all different sizes.

I seem to find 255/55/18s the easiest. I have these on the rear, but would they work up front? All the same size?

Here is what I have been finding...

255/55/18
255/40ZR18
245/45/18
245/40/18
245/60/18

I know we had 235/50-18 from the factory. I don't completely know what the numbers mean other than the 18, but I don't know the limits as to what fits up front.

Do any of the sizes I mentioned work? Other than the factory issued....

I run Falken Ziex 245/45/18ZR tires all around. I wish I could run a little beefier, as these are just a touch on the thin side for the muscular look of the MM, but at the same time these tires grip FANTASTIC on my n/a setup. Ran me about 800 for the whole set.

BTW, these tires are W-rated (second-highest Z rating a tire can get.)

1st number is tread width in millimeters: 235 mm = 9.25 inches, 245 mm = 9.65 inches and 255 mm = 10.04 inches.

2nd number is aspect ratio/sidewall height in % of treadwidth:

235/50 ---- 50% of 235 mm = 117.5 mm or 4.63 inches
245/50 ---- 50% of 245 mm = 122.5 mm or 4.82 inches
255/55 ---- 55% of 255 mm = 140.3 mm or 5.52 inches

3rd number is the rim diameter in inches = 18"

The letters ZR, WR, etc indicate the speed rating of the tire.

I know of only 1 or 2 folks running 255/55/18 up front. That is probably about as big as you can go without clearance issues. Of course, if you have an '03 300b or an '04 MM equipped with traction control, you will need to maintain the size front/rear ratio between 2% - 6% to prevent interference with the T/C.

I had m tire shop try fitting 255/55/18s on the front a while back, and there were clearance issues.

Hey Dom, PM 03mmmonroe, he may have a used set of low mileage fronts that he might be interested in selling you.
