In my quest to decide on the right place to get my X-Pipes installed I questioned which muffler I should go with. I currently have Flowmasters on my Grand Marquis and they sound pretty good I must say but I don't know if I should put the same on the Marauder. I look the Marauder Gods for answers and guidence lol...

flows all the way...if you want loud and some cracking get slp loudmouth 1s but stay away from glasspacks, thats just me...

lol, loudmouth 1 mufflers may as well just be a straight section of piping.

If you like the flowmaster tone you probably can't go wrong on your MM, if you want crackling you can go with glasspacks, if you want absurd crackling and pretty ridiculous volume you can go with loudmouths.

Here's a video of a Mustang GT with the loudmouth system. Personally I like the sound, but it's LOUD.

I've never had Glass packs. I like a kind of low hum but with lots of aggression once I'm gaining speed. The are good I was just wondering if there was something a little better but still not super loud and rediculous. Those Loudmouths are crazy loud... Lol

Oh yea, those are the sex :D

I've got the second cats deleted and flowmaster super 40's, they are actually kind of quiet to be honest! sound great under more than 1/2 throttle though.

I know what I am going with when I have the mid pipes replaced now. :D

Those Aero's sound sweet even in a stock type setup. They should sound sick with the Kooks.

Are you from Baltimore, MD? I know there is are several throughout the USA. If you're local, could always meet up and let you hear it in person which is always the best way.

I may have to consider something different then. I like loud as long as there is no drone but not sure about for the 60+ miles I commute everyday. I would need to hear it before I decided probably.

I work in Elkridge almost right off Washington Blvd (Rt. 1). On the weekends it's pretty dead around my work so I could really open the car up and let you hear it all. Just have to figure out a day and time to meet up. Maybe DOOM would come up and have me take some more video of his car. lol

Neither do what others have said. Aeros/Magnaflows or a strait through muffler to complement your x pipe. If you keeped your H pipe those sound better with the flows imo. When I did the x noticed my setup sounded different; quieter than with the H.

Oh ok I used to work at Empire Auto Parts out there close to Jessup so I know that area well. Let me know when we can meet. Saturdays are kind of tricky since I work for the Post Office so just let me know and I'll try and meet you guy's out there. Thanks dohc324ci..

PI 3500 w/4.10s for the moment. Will be going to 3.55s or 3.73s when I redo the rear end in preparation for the eaton.

then stay away from aeros, with the high stall and aeros you will have a headach DD-ing it

I didn't get a headache from mine and I have a 3500 stall, if anything I enjoyed my DD-ing in it, hell late nights coming home after a 16-18 hr work day the exhaust is what would keep me awake (not that it was super loud or anything) but just some noise in the background and not quiet like a whisper.

1. you dont have headers, the car is twice as loud with the addition of headers
2. you dont have 4.10s so your hiway rpms arnt as high, although on the hiway the aeros are prolly quieter then stock.

hiway drone bassically dosnt exist with aeros, its the accelerating witht he high stall and gears that will ring you bell.

I had no mufflers and side pipes off the mid pipe before, now that gave me a headache every day for the 3 weeks they were on for. Providing the exhaust is not exiting anywhere under the vehicle that really cuts down on any drone.

I've also driven DOOM's car and didn't seem any louder at cruising speed then mine does. Sure tap on the go pedal and it gets loud but you're not going to be standing on the pedal the whole time while cruising.

I got more annoyed with the Flowmasters cruising drone than any noise that these Aeros make at any throttle.

So far everyone who has put new ones on or swapped their current ones for Aeros has been happy so that must mean something . I'd put one on my 08 Taurus if I could , I mean I could but want to keep the stock look of a low profile dual tip muffler.

I'll be trying out the Aeros when I get my headers. I'll agree the cruising tone of flowmasters is really annoying and they aren't even that loud under heavy acceleration. Only at WOT.

SS Magnaflows. 2 1/2" straight through - sound better than the glasspacks they replaced
