nice- Lonnie sells some good stuff. How many inches is it? 9.5?
Also: you will need a transmission cooler - I hope you are getting one also?
Going to install it yourself?
Edit: Is that a drain plug I see too?

It's a 10- inch, stage I with the good frictions and torrington bearings. No rivets, everything welded. I am really looking forward to it.
Yes on drain plug, once motor goes back in the car The trans/converter can go in.
As far as the cooler, I was thinking of the stacked-plate spuercooler maybe, AN lines.
With fan or without is my question.

With thermal bypass

Not sure what trans you're using (not up to date on your build). I know the MM has a factory thermal bypass so it lets the trans warm up faster in colder weather.

45K BTU is a LOT! (Perhaps too much) Look at the Medium or even the Mini -- I got the Long Mini Max (22,000 BTU) with thermal bypass and hooked it up in series with the factory cooler. I never get above 183F. I don't think you'll need the one that comes with a elec. fan..
Ok, now why is the motor out again?

I am not running a factory cooler of any sort. The side tank will be blocked off with plugs. The cooler will be plumbed with AN lines from the trans to the cooler and back.
The stacked plate design supposedly in theory doesn't need a thermal bypass.
babbage - where did you mount your cooler? With no A/C consenser I have a little more room in front.
Thanks

Mine is smack dab right behind the factory grille.

Trust me get the Long Medium Max cooler - they are the best. Go to www.bulkpart.com (http://www.bulkpart.com) Do Get the thermal bypass - you don't want the fluid going into the cooler all of the time. At 180 degrees the bypass fully opens and lets the cooler fully go to work. Factory trans cooler works the same way (with a thermal bypass)
