I see another couple of us have had their MM's taken from them in accidents this week. Seems like there's more and more of our cars getting crunched. So what I'd like to know is just how many of us have actually had damage done to our cars. Besides me of course.

I'm a (somewhat) happy camper. My Marauder has passenger side doors again! My body shop is finishing up final fitting of everything and then we weld it all down and head to the paint booth. Whew! Four months is a long time to borrow a vehicle. I'm convinced I need a second car for future problems like this.

I had a 2 trips in to the body shop for samll(?) accidents. First one was $1100. turned out to be $1800.(back bunper) after they finished. Second was $700.(left front) I got paid for both. :)
Two trips to the detail shop to try and save the paint. One trip to the body shop to re-paint the whole top or the car, hood, roof, trunk. Now I need to meet with the Zone Rep. to discuss the next step? Car looks like S#*T? :alone:
Other than paint issues GREAT CAR!!!:)

This is slightly off the subject but applies in a way. I have seen 4 damaged MMs online since it's introduction. The 1st one was going top speed then did a 180 backwards into the path of a semi in TX. 2nd was for sale in MI with both rear doors and 1/4s damaged. 3rd was in in MO with 10k and no front end and deployed air bags. The 4th was for sale with 9k and had undercarriage damage, but with a clean title.

I caught an entire headlight assembly from a truck in my front driver's side.... lost the whole foglight assembly and side marker light, along with the paint damage: total cost to repair $1100.

Their was one in Rochester, New York area a few months ago? Two "kids" stole it and wound up loosing control on the New York State Thruway and crossing over into the oncomming lane (backwards) and getting killed by a 18 wheeler.

The car from TX was on Ebay and sold to a guy in NY. The accident happened in TX.
I spun out coming down a snow (ice) covered downhill road here. My MM smacked broadside into the curb with both tires (snapped both rims) and hit a tree (crumped left rear fender by gas cap).
Total repair was over $5,000, less my $500 deductible.
The worst part was when those bast*rds at the insurance co. jacked my rates up to $1,800 a year.
Moral of the story ... start your own self-insurance company or reconsider insurance fraud. :help:

A post I made yesterday, 11/20/03:
Newest member of Crunch of the Month Club

Well, it took 57,204 miles and 13 1/2 months before Ol' Black's luck ran out about 1PM. The bad news is Ol' Black got rear-ended today a red light while the wife was coming back from a milk run. The good news is nobody got hurt and I wasn't there to discuss the situation with the other driver. :mad2: :uzi: Preliminary estimate about $3400.

I wonder which one of our "Crunch Club" had the most damage in dollars? Mine was just shy of $11,800.

POLL: "Regarding how many wrecked MM's:
--Nope, my beauty is still a virgin!
--Yea, my beauty is a woman now!"
----------------------------------------------------------------
Racerx88- I hate to start trouble, but . . .
Regarding the survey, it's an interesting concept that you equate a Marauder sustaining a wreck (decidedly a negative event) with a female losing her virginity. Assuming a female is heterosexual, she would be losing her virginity to a male. Would this imply that it would be the male who is contributing to or causing this "negative" event for the female (as in "wrecking" what's good in her life)? Hope not.
And if we assume that a Marauder which is still a "virgin" has remained in beautiful condition, then does this imply that a female wishing a good, trouble-free existence should stay away from males? Hope not.
Anyway, Racerx88, I'm just foolin' with ya.
;) I know what you mean. Just the armchair sociologist coming out. And it's Friday.
But I can't answer the poll 'cause my Marauder is a male. Luckily, (and let me knock wood here) he's just about as gorgeous and unblemished as the day he first came home with me.

I run OASIS whenever I see a Ford product that I take an interest into. I alos run it for the members when interested.
I saw an OASIS for a used 2003 MM that had "transportation damage". They replaced 1 wheel, LF fender, front header panel, LF corner light, LF fender molding, LR 1/4 panel, fuel door and its internals. That is good amount of damage for a new car.
I’ve had 2 accidents neither my fault. :mad2:
One was $13,329.16 (1st body shop)
Second body shop had to fix what the 1st body shop screwed so ADD another $5,896 was spent! This is NOT counting the use of a rental car, which was well over $3,000!
I just got hit again about 2 weeks ago and that comes to $342.00
Hey what happen to the spell checker?

I think Marauderman's was around $17,000. He'll probably let us know when he gets back from Florida.

Pux'ty Phil predicts another (6) weeks before Spring...maybe.
About as accurate as Doppler Radar...I suppose...
Driving MM daily thru the Winter makes it SEEM like EVERY day is Spring...no, make that Summer. One great way to dispell the Winter BLAHS...

Add another 6 MMs to the crunch list. The 1st 3 were for sale on Ebay. one was a black 300a with light front damage and bags with 5k in DC, another black 300a with 21k with no front end and frame damage, and a blue/gray 300b with fire damage to the left rear quarter panel. The last 2 are from MI. There is also another black 300a with lt frt damage that is also in MI for $10200 and one being parted out with heavy right side damage and 6k in AL. There was also another thread where an old couple hit a pole with a MM and had to extricated with the jaws of life.

Well about the third day I had mine some Kid 20-25 years old riding a bicycle ran a stop sign slid into a curb and dinged both passenger side wheels. Got cheap still driving them that way over 18,000 miles since.

I get your point, good question too. I try to keep in mind that as retail sales increase, so do other indexes. Thanks to another poll here that's still open, owners talking to owners has jumped to 167 the last time I check it. Add to that us sharing our complaints on an international scale, and we can cause ourselves to believe there are widespread problems with the MM. 167 out of the total membership is a small percentage. Total membership here out of total ownership everywhere, is likewise small. When you put things under a microscope, don't they look bigger?
