When a criminal shows this kind of blatant disregard for basic humanity, I think "an eye for an eye" is appropriate. Sentence him to lie in the road and be run over a couple dozen times...

Greeeaaaat.... Well shouldn't have too hard of a time tracking down a marauder... especially with significant damage! Unbelievable... sounds like alcohol or drugs could have played a role in this.

wrong car to do a hit and run lol i dont think police arent gana have a hard time finding that one. there are probably less then 50 marauders in detroit.. they will look at every single one till they find one with the damage.

Glad he is off the streets. Hope it wasn't anyone here. If so, close their account! haha

Are you kidding me?.I would bet that 25-30% of all Marauders were sold in the Detroit Tri-county area.Use to be I would see one or more every day around here. When both the `03 and `04`s were in the 10 most stolen where do you think they were stolen from?.Sad part about Detroit is that nobody stops at lights or stop signs(You might get jacked)But you can always find any different color Marauder want for sale and there`s always Marauder parts for sale.If you call a 313 area code for a Marauder or parts its a pretty good chance there hot.

Just kinda ironic that the biker was hit by a Mercury and taken to the Henry Ford hospital.

I read another eyewitness report that stated it was NOT a Marauder, just a Grand Marquis. So keep 'em.

So you have to register, insure and get plates for bicycles in MA? Man that's messed up. :P

Yeah, you shouldn't hit and run, but bikes should not be in the street whenever possible. Same thing with people -- I see it all the damn time. Idiots walking in the road when there is a sidewalk right next to them. They deserve to be hit.

Devil's Advocate here. I thought this man was innocent until after his trial. Also, are there extenuating circumstances? Maybe he was in fact drunk or drugged, and paniced, and ran. I mean, unless he purposely ran this man down, isn't the death penalty a bit harsh.

Note: the author does not condone Impaired Driving, is a Teatotaller, and one of them "right wing wacos." However, he believes in the justice system as it is written into law.

I agree with this. BTW... it said he was drinking... that is what I thought initially right off the bat, because whenever someone goes to those extremes to run, they are usually under some sort of influence.

Cannot ride bicycles on sidewalks in MA... Not strongly enforced, but is in fact the case... I hate the fact that these bicyclists are on the street... It angers me to have to slow down and try to get around them!

Bicycles have their own lane a lot of times in California. Its just next to the shoulder. They are not supposed to use the sidewalk. In Indiana, they use the sidewalk which makes sense to me. A bycicle is too hard to see and too slow to be on the road in my opinion.

In regards to Detroit, when I lived in Michigan for a year and had to drive through Detroit or the greater Detroit area, I saw so many Marauders. And one used car lot had like three used in thier lot. That was about 2004-2005. I didn't finally get my Marauder until I moved out west but they sure were popular in Detroit I can be a witness. I even remember hearing a radio talk show where a guy called in and said he hooked up with some girl after a party then went back out to his Marauder from her house and the rims were stolen. The host said that the Marauder was a nice car.

Aside from this situation, I mean the guy was drunk, therefor he is certainly going to deserve a lot worse than he will actually get.

But all of you have brought up a great topic, bicyclists on the streets. I don't mind sharing the road with these morons, however if they are going to ride in the street, they should have to adhere to the same laws. For example, if you can't keep up with the flow of traffic. Nothing angers me more than when these idiots ride in a pack, with their stupid banana helmets and spandex shorts, in 50mph zone.

They can't go 50 mph, therefor they are a safety hazzard. If they want to ride in the 25mph zone, I can put up with it. But when you take up a whole lane of the street and can't get to within 20mph of the speed limit, I'll be sober, but I may just hit you. (I wouldn't be stupid enough to do it in a Marauder though)

I apologize to all bike enthusiasts out there, just had to vent.

I generally see two to three Marauders a day in my commutes in and around Dearborn. Quite common around here.

Also, I almost forgot, I saw one almost everyday in Brighton Michigan. Its a small town but someone there owned a black one. Maybe they are here? And still have the car? I bet they probably sold it though since it seems a lot of people that bought new sold and get new cars.

Drink
Drink
Drink
Drink
Don't Think
Drive
Kill

Get drunk a lot
And work 40 hours a week
Spend half your time
Hung over, sick and weak

Make sure to tell yourself that this is cool
And make sure to tell yourself that you have no choice
And make sure to tell your friends that they drive you to it
And that you can quit anytime
That you want, anytime
You can quit
Anytime
That you want
You can quit
Anytime
You can quit
Anytime
Anytime

Party down, party down
Drinkin' til you can't even see
Fill your car with your buddies
And wrap it around a tree

Feelin' pretty petty
Lying cold in a hospital bed
Busted car, busted head
You had a friend but now he's dead

So, was it a Marauder or what?
I'm surprised anybody even knew what one is anyway.
