View Full Version : Who Should I use to work on my car? (Southern IN/Louisville Metro)

I'm ready to begin doing some modding to my car and I have no idea where I should have my car serviced. I figure the local Ford dealer is out of the question since they don't like doing work outside factory specifications.

First up on my list are some Steeda U/D pulleys. I understand that they aren't the most difficult of things to install, but I lack the mechanical dexterity and equipment to do the job prudently.

So who's good? I live near Seymour, IN so the closer to there, the better. I would be willing to go up to Indy as well. Weekend hours would be a definite plus.

As an aside, I'm beginning to wonder if the previous owner didn't have 4.10's installed in the car. The reason I wonder is because my gas mileage is a little under what I see most people getting on here with stock gears (~17mpg in town, 20 on the hwy) and I don't usually speed by more than 5mph. Also, my 0-60 times are between 6.8-7.0sec using 91 octane and I've seen it mentioned on here before that a stock marauder runs 0-60 in about 7.3sec. So any way of knowing if it ever had the gear swap?

The previous owner is dead so I figure trying to ask him is out of the question.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help!

Wow.

Ummm well there are a few guys near your area that have heavily modified their Marauders. I'm sure they will post up soon. Good luck and enjoy!

Jack the rear of the car up & count the driveshaft revolutions as you rotate the rear tires.

Yeah, I found a copy of his death certificate in the glove box along with a favorites CD full of Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, and George Jones. He was 85 and had apparently had some sort of tuner installed on it at one time because I found some sort of congratulatory certificate from SCT along with them the other items. Hell of an 85yr old!

If he died with a smile on his face you probably have 4.10's .

(no disrepect intended towards the gentleman.)
