well if any of you have been following me and my eaton swap, you will know ive been playing hell with my blower drive hub coming loose and you can see some of that here:

the most recent time this has come loose it actually wore the hub around the bolts heads, the lock tight kept the bolts tight. so i decided to make this thing, basically a big washer that will hopefully stop the pulley hub from wearing around the bolt heads. also drilled 3 new holes in the middle of the old ones since they were trashed again.

Have you ever made sure you didnt get bolts too long and they are hitting the timing cover?

im positive they arnt, the hub gets tight on the ballancer, plus they were the bolts that came with it. its gotta be a strange harmonic in my engine or something.

I was thinking the bolts may be the wrong threads but I am sure you checked that Dave. Did you try red locktite?

threads are fine, this is dificult to explain but the bolts remained tight, the pulley worked its self loose by wearing the bolt heads and the holes in the hub.

yup the red lock tight held just fine

im wondering if my belt is too tight? with the tensioner at full deflection i can barely squeeze the belt on
