So coming up in the next month or so, I'll be going with the full kooks 2.5 system :D
I'm thinking of going with the aero turbine muffs instead of magnaflows. Does everyone run the 2525's? Is that the only option for these cars?

The 2525 are the best option muffler for our car from Aero Turbine. DOOM has Kooks headers, x-pipe, AT2525 mufflers, 2.5" over axle pipe and 4" delete tips. Crazy stupid loud when you're on the gas and quiet and mellow at idle and cruising.

I spoke with Dennis today about the Aero mufflers with the kooks package, and he does not recommend them, to say the least lol.
He says poor sound quality, tons of drone, and obnoxiously loud. But I like loud :) Not sure what to do on this one.
Hey Doomsickle, are you running the offroad or catted X?

Anybody running LT's with the aeros that isn't supercharged? Got any vids?

what @ what Dennis said. I completely disagree, I love my aero turbines 2525 everything else is stock and they sound so sexy to me. Im thinking about getting the resonators taken out of the stock tips tho. Hands down at 2525 are the best mufflers for these things.

I'm running the X - pipe that comes with the KOOKS complete exhaust kit.

the aeros do favor magnaflows alil. drone wise, theres none only a deep loud tone behind the car

Magnaflows will be quieter than Aeros and Flowmasters will have more drone than Aeros. Dennis must of just been annoyed with how loud they were on the dyno . I'll put it this way as I've told others for whatever reason their muffler design for all of their mufflers can even make Toyota Camry sound good, no joke. They will also outflow Flowmasters and Magnaflows in bench testing and do not have packing in them like Magnaflows which will can change the exhaust tone once they are broken in.

a louder magnaflow tone is what i was getting at. way i look at it, every muff needs breaking in. a brand new car for instance, ppl say 30k-55k miles before its broken in, how bout gears, ppl say dnt get on it right away. when i had my tranny overhauled my dad told me just drive it but dnt put strain on it.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to just do it. I've got super 40's on the car now with a rear cat delete and it's really quiet unless you step on it.
Im looking for LOUD! lol

LMAO obviously he hasn't driven one for any amount of time. sound quality is A+, ZERO drone, but he is right on the last account, they are obnoxiously loud IF you have headers and only 2 cats.

It all makes sense now :D Yeah I saw those on ebay the other day  Definitely going to snap up a pair.
I'm considering going with an offroad xpipe, as I've heard the cat's blow out ridiculously fast with lt headers. Not sure though.

The plan is to make room for the Trilogy which will hopefully be ordered in the next 4 months:banana2:
Or is that a bad idea? Is a 3" setup on a N/A gona hurt me? I was thinkin 2.75 at first but I'm gettin the Trilogy at some point and don't want to spend anymore on exhaust lol

Go big or go home! lol
3" NA you would lose some tq on the bottom end but gain everything on the top end, through on a Trilogy and it will all balance out.

2-3/4"~3" exhauston a NA car??? Big no, no on a 4000lb sled! Now SC'ed that's another story.

I'm sure you guys will laugh at me for this question, but I don't do burnouts since my MM is not supercharged.
Here goes: Doesn't doing heavy duty burnouts fry the rear brake rotors and pads after just a couple runs?

At least leave them glazed and or warped?

If your power braking while doing it yes. I'm running a stock 3:55 and my MM can get into a burnout without touching the brakes. Well it use to before the control arms.

Just got my 2525's via FedEx today, but I'm having trouble finding an exhaust shop that does stainless welding/exhaust work. My car is all stock as well, so I'm curious how your exhaust fit went ? Do you have pictures of the Aero's on your car ? The stock exhaust has an inlet- offset, center-outlet...and the Aero is straight. How did you adapt that ? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

they will fit no problem, that part of my exhaust is still stock. it will just require some 2.5-2.25 reducers.

Any good exhaust shop can make them work with no problem. If they say they can't then take your business else where.
Mine are welded onto the stock piping with no problems.

I got the aero's on mine and I got rid of the rear mufflers and had my H pipes made to 2.5. I'd like to get Headers but the noise issue stops me. So to reduce the noise issue if I decide to go with the headers could I switch to x-pipes and get that magnaflow x-pipe muffler, keeping the same pipe diameter and the aero's. Anyone think that would help?

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like 2.5 to 2.25 reducers in stainless is the way to go. I'd like to see how the Aero's look with that in place. Any pics ??

I have and still do brake torques like you've never seen for the last six years! I replaced my perfect condition brakes and rotors 15,000 miles ago for drilled/slotted rotors that look absolutely brand new still today. My car loves rubber all over the rear and fresh methane gas on the drivers seat..:beatnik:

I'm still running the original rear brakes from when I bought the car. I'd say they have another 10-15k miles left on them even with the brake torques I'll be doing.

From DOOM's car. Full 2.5" stainless piping.
