Can anybody give me their VIN for a 2004 MM?? I'm not interested in the last 4 numbers...just put xxxx there!!

My DAMN DEALER now is being scrutinized by my insurance company!! The insurance company says it is not a VALID VIN!!!??? :mad2: :mad2:

I guess if we are chasing a car that doesn't exist??.....THAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM!!!:( :(

I'M GONE FISHING!!!:D

The body code changed from M75 to M79, probably not in their data base yet.

I had the same problem with my insurance company.

They said that the car does not exist. They asked me at least 10 times to get them the correct VIN #. Kept asking me, 'are you sure that's the number?' 'Could you please go check it on the car, again?' This went on forff weeks.

It took a month for them to get the info from Mercury.

Hey RedMM....

My VIN reads just as yours except where yours is 79VX4X....Mine is 79V84X??

I'm wondering if the 8 should be an X???

They are checking on it right now!!:help:

Thanks,

I'd just ask them to charge me what they normally charge for cars that "don't exist"...:D

The dealer just called and told me the VIN is correct and the car is on a railcar but God knows where??:(

Another load is due in Columbia by rail tomorrow....I'm tired of thinking about it and I know the dealer is getting tired of me!!:D

Thanks guys for all the help and replys!! I'm sure it is worth waiting for especially since I have their car for FREE!!!:) :D

The number after the V is a check digit. it could be from 0 the 9 or the letter X. It is different from car to car.

Just my .02 here
