View Full Version : Turbo Marauder
Hey Guys,
Long time reader, first time owner. I am in the process of buying Todd's turbo car and having it shipped up to Calgary Canada.
Looking forward to driving and modding an already great vehicle!
BTW Todd is a GREAT guy to deal with.

The car really caught my eye because it's basically the exact car I have been planning to build. That means I get what I want but I save money. Gonna covert to blow through and turn up the boost, I'll post the dyno results when I get to that stage!

Glad to hear the car went to a member. Todd is a great guy he always responded to my pms even when I tried to lowball him:D. Apparently 2 grand and a ham sandwich wasnt an appealing offer to him.

I spoke with Todd a few times when I was working in Florida. Never had a chance to see the car, but WOW, what an awesome car. I'm sure a lot of members will be jealous, me included. Good luck with one of the Top Marauders from this forum :burnout:

That is what I told Todd when he posted up his awesome Marauder for sale.
If I could start all over and have all the money back that I've poured into my Marauder, I'd build one like his turbo monster!
He also has that one-of-a-kind hood!...:bows:
Good luck with the car and keep us posted on the mod updates.
Congrats!!
Todd is a stand-up guy and he helped me a lot when I was installing my turbo.
If there is anything I can help you with as you work with the car just let me know!!!

congrats on the new purchase. Make sure you get ahold of me and we can hook up, I am close and am eager to see it. To bad the Calgary track will not show the cars real abilities.

Yeah I will contact you for sure. Where in the city are you? I'm down in McKenzie. I saw a silver Marauder driving down deerfoot leaving Mckenzie Towne, first one I've seen in a LONG time. Do you know who owns it?

The silver one I think is from Chestermere. I live in Strathmore (just outside to the east) but work in the N.E. I do not usually drvie the MM for comuting purposes. This will be so cool! It is kinda like finding a long lost brother. For so long I have been getting the questions ...``what is that``...``do they all come with a blower```...I will be happy to share the light, I don`t really know of any other local enthusiasts. I have heard of a couple blown cars up in and near Edmonton. That is it for Alberta

Your a lucky guy. I have talked to todd countless time about buying the car. But, the one problem I had was I already have one and I could not sell it for what I owe on it. The best of luck to you. todd is a great guy I'm sure he will treat you right.

Definitely cool that there is another one around, too bad there aren't more but I guess that make our cars more unique. I will take my car to Race City once I do a few things to get the power where I want it. Have you raced yours?
I'm also really worried about the rocks on the road, I'm thinking of getting some 3M film on it. Any thoughts on that?

I guess timing is everything. I'm just glad I grabbed this before someone else did!

Ya I have been to the track a few times with it. traction is a issue, but that is race city for you? If you can stay off Deerfoot the rocks should not be to bad.
Do you think you will have to get it retuned for our *****y gas and poor air?
Do get ahold of me when you are up and running, It would be fun to hit a show and the track. I got a few friends that are into the fast 4dr thing that I think you would like to meet.

We'll definitely meet up. Once I get it to where I want it I will contact you and we can meet up. I don't know how often I will bring it to the track because it's very easy to break stuff, but I will definitely bring it for secret street at least a couple times. We'll have to go for a cruise with both cars, maybe down 17th or something. It would be nice if there was a few more guys we could find who had them. When I wired the money to Todd, the woman at my bank said her father in law has one; and we should try to track down the guy with the silver one.
Other than that I never see Marauders around here, it's a real shame...

The trip would be great, and I hear that you can pick-up near a full second on the ET by going to Mission
John, I just came back to the site and saw your thread.
Guys, John was more trustworthy and straight forward than I could ever expect a stranger (when this all started) to be. He is a great guy and I hope you guys treat him as good as I have been treated while I had the Marauder.
Congrats John. I'll miss her. But glad she went to a guy like you.

Hmmm, I don't know about that. I just did a FULL night of Friday Night Street Legal drags. From 1730 until 2300, I got in 17 runs! Yes, 17 in one night, used the same lane almost everytime and made small, incremental changes. It didn't go well.
First run was a 13.25, slowly went down to 12.84 as a best time of the night. The new widened rims and tires did diddly squat for my times. (Stock rims/tire combo last season got a personal best of 12.81?!?) Best 60' was a 1.904, very disappointing considering all the hype about widened rims.
Near the end we were actually hot-lapping the strip! My trans was NOT happy, so I had to stop. I actually thought it might leave me stranded, but I think the fluid just got overheated due to the 4 back-to-back runs at the end of the night.:o I'm sensing a trans rebuild nearing....

Late summer or early fall is best for our s/c cars. They LOVE the cool sea air. My best times are always after the sun goes down and the air cools off.
