After a 30 minute jaunt on some twisty Vermont back country roads I came to a 4-way stop intersection. The two sport bikers following me were obviously impressed with the Grand Marquis they'd been doggin' for five miles, until one of them pointed to the MARAUDER embossed rear bumper---it all made sense then!

Across the intersection was a very nice Acura RSX, later to find out it was a Type-S 201 HP model. The Acura turned toward the interstate on-ramp..the same way I was going so I tucked in behind, following up the on ramp! Then the oversize exhaust can on that Acura started to bellow with a massive jump in RPM's, I grinned, pressed the OD button, and hammered the throttle, making that InTech V8 sing!! We merged onto the interstate at 80+ MPH, (no traffic fortunately), the Acura pumping another gear, that exhaust really howling! A quick look at the tach says I'm right in the power band and the speedo hits the centry mark..the Marauder still pulling hard when I pull into the passing lane ... side by side with the Acura. I don't bother looking over...just engage the OD and peek at the speedo passing a buck twenty. I get about 3 car lengths ahead when the speed limiter hits....damn..!! Fortunately the Acura doesn't press me, so I gradually slow down into the right lane. The Acura pulls up along side in the passing lane...the drivers' girlfriend looks over with a beaming smile!! Two young 20 somethings... Yeah...we all enjoyed that little rock-n-roll !!

YES!! Sucks route 88 is right down the street. I always find myself hitting the on and off ramps at rather high rates of speed. Those tolls add up;)

Dohc....yeah a tune would be nice. There is a great tune shop called Quintin Brothers in Williston, Vermont. Modern Dyno setup. The Mustang crowd really love these guys for tunes. I'm just hesitating to drop $550 for the pre/post dyno and SCT tuner. I'm sure a tune would take care of that 2nd to 3rd tranny surge at hard throttle.

Figure with the improvements in fuel economy, and lower health care costs (good stress relief), the tuner will pay for itself.

Bandit....Ha Haaaaaaaah !! Yeah she was a cutie brunette with a brilliant smile.

Paul T. -- no doubt on the stress relief. I just dropped $1500 on new rims and tires from Tire Rack. The Tune will be next, once my bride overcomes the sticker shock!

Brides are funny like that, a measly few dollars for the car and OMG!!, but they can turn around and put new carpets and furniture in the house on a yearly basis if you let them. ;)

And the shoes!!!!!, how many damn pairs of shoes are really needed? :eek:That having been said, women posess the "azz"ets we covet most and the "fun bags" we like to play with. So if that costs me some remodeling, shoes and clothes, I guess it's worth it

"fun bags"

I may be completely out of line here, but whenever I've ever questioned the existence of God, I remember those and have my answer.

Amazing how this thread migrated from a MM vs Acura tango, to funbags, shoes, shopping, and room renovations!!! Ha ha !! Ok...Ok...I shouldn't have mentioned "sticker shock" and "my bride" in the same sentence!

Get a tune, Addco sway bars and aftermarket upper & lower rear control arms and you could have passed that Acura on the on-ramp.....
