I was a porter way back when. Swept floors, took out the trash, washed cars, detailed cars, got the shop manager lunch, light assy after paint work, kept the shop in order.....yea, pretty much anything that needed to be done.

They're the "GRUNTS" of any business.

A great job for a teenage person and gets your foot in the door at the dealership. Good luck with your new job.

I had that job for two summers and it was the most fun job I've ever had.
You organize cars in the lot, put stickers on the cars (years) pick up customers, drop off customers, drive cars to inventory, pick up cars from inventory, wash cars (machines did the work here, all you had to do was dry them) minor repairs sometimes on weekends (headlight blob change) cleaned up the display, the outside, sprayed down cars in the show room every morning, made sure all cars outside were locked at the end of the day, put a blocker car by the enterence gate, help truckers unload new cars off the trailers... just tell them where to park it.
You'll get a hang of it in an hour. Always be doing something though. Do not say there is nothing to do when there is nothing to do... I made that mistake at first, but didn't make it a second time.
You can work your way up. After doing this for 20 weeks I was asked to come back the following summer to sell used cars, but I didn't come back. I would have been more involved in cars than my goals with music.
Enjoy!
