I've never had a problem with my under hood light until now. When I put the hood up, the light goes off. When I put it down, the light goes on. So, I bought a new switch assembly, and the problem continues. Very strange......
This happened when I replaced the defective Ford paint job hood with a new one. I highly doubt it is related.
I'm glad I noticed this or I would have a thread about a dead battery all the time. What do you guys think could be the problem????
Thanks in advance for any help!

sounds like it is mounted backward. the wire plug-in is to front of car... the bulb faces the fire wall.

Holy ****! When I saw the 2 holes drilled into the hood, I assumed incorrectly the orientation! I initially forgot to disconnect the harness when I was pulling the hood, so I must have rotated the assembly before I noticed it! I feel really stupid! Thanks man!

The hood may have been installed backwards. Happens a lot! When you pull your hood release which end pops up?

The fit and finish has gotten worse over the years!

The lights are all programmed to turn off automatically after a time...not sure how long.:)

I would estimate ten minutes.
