Ladyfriend and I met up with my dad for dinner and a few beers last night after he got out of work. I had the Marauder all shined up, and he had his Mustang as clean as it always is (58000 miles, still showroom clean). So he parks next to me, and we're eating outside because it was a beautiful day yesterday. We're looking at the cars, talking, stuff like that.

He goes to leave, and I said "hey, do you wanna take the Marauder to work tomorrow?" This is something we've been talking about for awhile; none of his co-workers know what a Marauder is, and he's been trying to explain it. So of course, dad says "yeah!"

So he leaves, and me 'n' Ladyfriend stay behind for another beer. About 10 minutes later, the phone rings.

Me: "Hey, Dad" (thinking the car broke down or something bad happened)
Dad: "Dude, you have got to get me into one of these."

Conversation pretty much continued like that. Dad's having thoughts of putting his 'Stang up for sale and getting into the 4-door, 4-valve fun of owning a Marauder. :burnout:

Great story!

My dad was the one that wanted a marauder and I was looking to replace my ranger with a marauder... He was definitely angered at me haha... I let him move it one day while I was mowing HIS lawn and I look over and he is doing a brake stand with it! haha

:help:My kids are arguing over who gets the Marauder when I croak...:(
I've told both of them that it will be sold and they can share the money.:o I'd be turning over in my grave knowing there are hockey sticks and pucks, softball bats, balls and gloves and last but not least, beer cans and coolers in my baby...not to mention a burger wrapper or two. My kids definetly don't take after me in taking care of their cars.:shake: You mean you have to put in oil once in a while?

Cool story.

The only thing missing is you telling him to put gas back in it when he's done playing. I used to get that from "My Dad" when I used his car. ;)

As a Mustang driver, I absolutely love my car. But I ahve to confess, I have driven JustBob's rauder a number of times, and it is frickin sweet. I think I really like it because of how heavy it is, with that much power it never seems like you are pushing the limits of losing control. In the Mustang, sometimes it jsut seems like at any moment, you are going over the edge.

Great story

Nice!!!! The first time I rode in Takedown's Marauder, the ride was smooth and the power of his car was phenomenal! Then when I test drove my Marauder at the dealer and a little convincing by Takedown, that put me over the top and I had to buy the Marauder. So I definately know the feeling!!

Well, the footnote to the story is that the Marauder doesn't fit in his 1-car attached garage. Fits in the back, but that's more of an outbuilding and requires driving all over the yard to get to.

So, instead of buying a Marauder, we took the 'Stang to RDP Motorsports and are having them re-do the suspension top to bottom, front to back.

You could have left out the bad ending and we would have remained happy.

Kernie, If you go the route of buying a Grand Marquis go to Whiteoak Ford - Lincoln in Mississauga. They have a brand new LS for $26,444....Ask for Thiago.

Yes, there is a bunch of them out there,

http://www.autotrader.ca/Result/Result.aspx?kwd=2009+grand+mar quis&r=40&loc=London%2c+ON&rctry=true&srt=3&sts=Used

An american autotrader.com search would show lots of '09's also no doubt, i bet 10 years from now an '09 marquis would be cool, a fuel price surge would also lower prices even more, no doubt, c'mon invade iran allready, he he, just kidding.
