Hey Guys,
Getting my Marauder shipped into town in the next few weeks. How many Calgary Marauders are there on this site?

I can speak for one. Chader is there. There is also an infamous member there named Aren Jay. He's very well known on this board.:)

she is hot! I don't know if AJ or his car really exist? I Hope you will give me a buzz when you have a second and we can hook-up.
If you need any help importing let me know I have done it a few times, the Maraider was one.

oh, These forums are addicting, so if your married you should let your wife know ASAP
I think I've got the importing under control. I am using a customs broker and Hansens for the vehicle shipping, the only downside is waiting so long after I've already paid for the car
I had some issues with RIV from a previous vehicle I imported. They initially told me that I had a $100,000 fine... but I worked it all out and now there shouldn't be any issues.

Better start a count down to the big day!

Well you know how frustrating the importing process is. You have the car but you can't drive it until the RIV gets approved. It'll give me time to get it converted to blow through and turn up the boost! I am also gonna get the rear rims widened with some drag radials, probably get numerically lower gears and upgrade the axles and diff.

Hopefully our poor fuel will not hold you back too much.

I don't think it's gonna be a big problem. There are lots of turbo cars in the area making really good power. Just gonna get a really good tune on it and it should work great! I'm more concerned with traction

I can only imagine how things will be for you. I can't hook for anything and I am sure I have alot less power then you? Tires do make a huge differance, as well as the crappy Calgary track does not make things better. I have gone through two sets of rear tires in about 10,000 miles trying to get it....

Tires are huge part of the equation. I think the big drag radials should hook ok. What kind of tires are u running?

255/50/18 Falken S/TZ01 for the street, and I have some 255/50/16 BFG DR'S
I am guessing about 380hp to the wheels to be actual. I am sure a tunner could make some great numbers but I don't think that would be actual or a good idea to mess with in Calgarys fluctuating poor air. I like to go on road trips with my family and if it breaks and we end up walking, I will never hear the end....

Congrats on the monster Page! I considered it too, but I have no where to put such a machine when not in use.
I just saw another one today. Black one with an SVT badge on the rear and V8 badges on the front fenders.

Good morning, and here's my inagural post in the most appropriate thread! My dad and I both own Marauders in Calgary.
You'll see dad ripping his 03 up and down Macleod trail on Friday and Saturday nights. Look for cobra badges on the front fenders and cobra hubcaps and nuts. For now the car is stock - we'll likely upgrade it throughout the winter for a fun project while it's off the road. I don't think he's on this forum yet.
The second 03 is mine; I bought it used a few months ago, and it came pre-upgraded with a V-2 with air cooler and the upgraded Vortech-provided injectors and fuel pump. It also has a shift kit and stainless driveshaft. Fourthhorseman's looks quite similar under the hood, so it must have been the same kit from Vortech.
I replaced my volt guage with a boost guage and it's doing about 8-9 psi, but I have no idea what sort of power it's putting out so I'll be looking for a decently-priced local dyno to find out (anyone want to put some bets down?). I do know I'll be going through tires pretty quickly in it because it has a guaranteed wheelspin from 1st to 2nd. I usually start out in 2nd to avoid it.
I'll be driving mine in the summer to work in Calgary from Langdon, so you'll see me mostly on Glenmore dodging semi's with a vanity plate matching my name. I recently spotted a silver 04 turning off on 18th - hello if you're present!

Welcome, where did your car come from? I live in Strathmore so I go your way often. I heard of a MM that was advertised for sale in Langdon. Was that yours. We should hook up for pizza at the Wildfire sometime.
If the snow quits and the summer starts maybe we can get some cruisin in?

Hey Chader, yes it would have been my "first" Marauder you heard of for sale in Langdon. I had it parked at the gas station where everyone could see it was for sale!
I bought and flipped my first Marauder to finance my second and current one. Its original owner bought it in Victoria, second owner had it in Edmonton, and I was the third owner for just over a month. Now the fourth has it in Winnipeg :) The car seems to be making its way across Canada!
My current Marauder I purchased from the original owner who bought it in Lethbridge and had all of the upgrades done by a Ford dealer. I'm pretty sure I'll be hanging onto this one!
Pizza at the WildFire would be good - especially on Sundays when it's cheaper ;)

this is cool. At 0ne point I thought I was the only MM in Calgary, and like the only forced air car in western Canada. Now they are popping up all over, this is great. I have always been envious of the guys down south who get to go on cruises and all sorts of meets.
Bring on the summer!!!!!

Hi Joe,
I know a guy who can get you on the dyno. When I bring mine to get tuned maybe we can have a few of our cars there. He'll give us a better deal on multiple cars.

John, that sounds terrific, thanks a ton and please keep me posted! I'm very curious to find out what the HP and Torque are on my car!
Chader, does your sig indicate you're running a Trilogy? My dad is interested and would be curious where you got it or who put it in for you - are they still available somewhere?

So did you drive it south to have it installed? We'd be more interested in shipping the parts here and doing the install as a winter project, if possible. Not sure about the tuning requirements though.

It is cheaper to go get it done. It is a great road trip. I can give you all the details but long storey short, I spent a long time reserching and there is no doubt in my mind that going to Detroit was the best deal.

I'll let you know when it comes in.
Hansen's shipping online tracker says the car is still in Florida, let's hope that it just hasn't been updated yet. If it is in Canada before Friday they said it will be on the train, if it takes longer then it won't leave until the following friday. Then they said I'm looking at two weeks on the train to get here...
...lots of delays :(
One more of it leaving Florida en route to Alberta:

Ahhhh...brings back memories of when my car first showed up here in Vancouver from Tennessee.
It was on this smaller truck from the US border to my place, but was the first car up on the top rack, right above the cab. Took 3 complete washes with Dawn soap to remove the bugs. Yech. Those bugs got really baked on after a week long trip in the middle of summer.
The RIV is funny. My car came up no problem, but it's twin-sister car that Dave has was a nightmare. Since they had the sunroof, they were listed as an "unfinished car or motorhome" when they left the factory. (Ford subcontracted all Marauder sunroofs to be done by a company off site). Poor Dave had to get Ford Co to tell the RIV to screw off...politely of course.

Page, I found out TODAY that my car is running a Reinhart tune and the next step is to find out if it is tuned for our altitude. Being that you shipping your car in, you might be in a similar situation, and we both might need the services of a dyno tune in the near future.
Know of anyone good locally that might work out for this purpose? I talked briefly to Matt at the Mustang Shop and he quoted $250+ for a basic assessment without tune. I figured they'd be a good bet because they're used to the Cobra engines...
I wonder if it's possible we go together and save a bit of money in the process... Perhaps we could even get a free dyno run thrown in for Chad!

I would be in, and willing to pay for a retune. I have a very conservative tune knowing how our poor fuel and air compared to down south would danger my engine. It is time to bring it up to safe Calgary limits.

If you're using diablosport, go talk to Matthew puzey at Techmotion, He's tuned my car before and knows some of the quirks of the Marauder computer. I don't know of anyone else in the province who's tuned a Marauder yet.

Be warned though, his dyno is a bit of a heartbreaker as the numbers are very low compared to most other dynos.
Hey guys,
Car is here and is great! It is presently in at the shop for two reasons; first I wanted to get it converted to blow through setup, and second the idle started deteriorating. Unfortunately I believe I may have hurt something by going WOT with subpar fuel :( I'll know more details this week, but it might be another few weeks before she is roadworthy again. I'll keep you guys in the loop.
In regards to the tuning, I would definitely recommend Matt from the Mustang Shop. He is very good with the modular stuff, and even the other experienced tuners send Matt their modular cars. I have mine booked in for his next available spot, which he said is probably in 3 weeks. I have no doubt that he would set up a time to get a few of our cars in together if we wanted to book it that way.
-John
P.S. My buddy said he ran into a guy at the track with a Marauder who knew about my car. Who was it?

John, that's great if you already know Matt - if you wouldn't mind talking to him about a group session for yourself, Chad and I, we'd really appreciate it!
I haven't gone to the track with my car yet - family life keeps me occupied and right now I only get to enjoy my marauder when I drive it to and from work. I'm sure the cops will be keeping their eye out for the Marauder with the raised hood though! ;)

Is it just gonna be the three of us? I know you want a tune, but what does Chader want? Baseline or tune? Once you tell me then I can run it by him.
