So Ive been wanting a Marauder for a few years now. Last month I even drove from NJ to FL to look at one...It only had 27k miles but I wasnt happy with its condition at all.
So, I finally got my hands on one and this one only has 10,350 miles! And now, Im just not feeling it....no idea why. Ive got a couple of other cars and I think maybe Ive gotten accustomed to those...? Maybe it was the idea of wanting something that you couldnt have and now that I have one...
Anyway, if anyone on the forum is interested in it, Im looking to get what I paid for it, $18,900. I realize it was a bit much but its literally the nicest one Ive seen. Id like to not take a loss since Ive had it all of 2 days.
I anticipated having to replace some tires but didnt think Id find one with such low miles. Will include 2 brand new, never mounted rear tires.
And yes, I do have the original floor mats. Didn't realize how rare they were or would have included them in the pics.
All of the pics can be seen here:

Let's face it... there is always someone that sells low & there is always someone that is willing to buy high.

True. But generally speaking, condition and miles do play a factor.

KEEEEEEEP IT!!! dude you are crazy!!! you have a mint Marauder and no mods. there are things you can do to wake it up...how about a tune, that's easy to de-mod if you arent' feeling it after that ::smh:: i bought mine with 9k on the clock about 4-5 years ago and have loved every mile reguardless of the little bumps in the road along the way (LCM and A/C) you have a gem on your hands...don't be so hastey ;) to each his own i guess tho...if i had $14K i would give you that for it, not $19K those days are long gone...just to give some perspective i paid $20K when i bought mine and that was before the economy dipped. Good luck with the sale if you must let it go.

Have all 4 original mats. I think I should take pics of them, didnt realize how rare they are...
Kinda starting to think that a Marauder with 10,350 miles is not too common...:depress:

Cant even imagine the pull it would have.
Bro, to be honest, if I kept this car, and a part of me does want to keep it, I would disconnect the battery, replace the appropriate fluids, park it in the garage, throw a dust cover on it and take it out in 30 years at which time I would have it transported to Barrett Jackson. Thats no fun :(
It would be difficult to get a bank loan for the full amount without adding some cash. I personally would not pay that much, but that's just me. I paid 32,000 for a new 2003 Marauder back in September of 2002.

And you'd get 2K for it, people who think these cars are gonna be worth more than their scrap value need medication.
Keep it and drive the hell out of it, if you really don't like it good luck with the sale. 19K might be a little sharp, but all you'd need is 1 person willing to pay that.

Nice car!!! The market on these is rough right now. I paid 21K for mine before the economy tanked. Said to hell with it and threw about 20K in mods at it, NOW, it is how it should have been from the factory.
I'd recommend a blower, built trans, bigger brakes and a good tune, you won't be sorry.
But also consider, in the used car market, the quote is.... there is an a$$ for every seat.
Good luck with the sale, if you don't sell it, enjoy it a little, these cars are crowd pleasers......

I guess its a gamble. Ive talked to so many people who tell me that they wish they had kept their Camaro or Vette or [insert name here].
I suppose no one really knows which cars are going to appreciate and which ones aren't.
Is that the general consensus, that these cars will not become collectibles or appreciate in value?

Hell no that's not the general consensus. They made 11,052. They are big and fast and rarer than the 90's Impala SS's. If you honestly think your car will only go for scrap value, I'll give you scrap value right now and save you the trouble of listening to those guys.

Hey man, that's a beautiful car with some of the lowest mileage I've seen. I got mine last June and, to be honest, I wasn't feelin' it either at the beginning. Learned more about the car, read up on some stuff on this site and got some seat time. Now I'm seriously considering selling my Olds and making this my baby.
Do yourself a favor, drive it to a local car show real soon. Something tells me you'll be "feelin' it" after that. Also, for fun, jump on the Turnpike and watch people scramble to get out of your way...it's a hoot!
Good luck with it, whatever you decide.

Oh, and by the way, I don't really see these cars getting much "cheaper" than they are now. Give the economy a chance to come back and put people in a buying mood again. I think you'll get more than your $$ back in a few years with your low-mile MM. There are fewer and fewer on the road every day.

Im no classic car expert or even close, but I would tend to agree. Like any highly desirable car, value is determined by miles and condition. The demand for these cars is high right now, let alone 2 decades from now. Not to mention that some of the parts are already obsolete. I think there are good indications that a well maintained low mileage MM would increase in value and the Limited Production Cert speaks to that.
As far as driving on the TNPK, I had to when I drove the car home and at first no one would pass even pass me :D Im gonna need to tint the windows to complete the "effect".

I've owned quite a few nice cars, much more pricey than this MM, but I'll tell ya, not a one of them made me say "Ive got a [blank] sitting in my garage".
Every couple of days I walk into the garage and say to myself, "I got a MM sitting here..." Ive wanted one for a while so its weird actually having one now.
My problem is that I wont let myself drive it. I guess my enjoyment will come from knowing I have it... Retarded I know :depress:
If no one ends up buying it, I want to get all the fluids swapped out before I store it and I'm not looking forward to adding miles in the process... :(

Keep it for a bit with the Mercury line ending the value of these cars private seller wise is going to go up steadily after the first year.
But it is an awsome car and you have done a great job taking care of her to say the least!

LeoVampire: I know bro, the decision to sell becomes harder every day especially since as you said, since the line is ending...:(

With my MM having less than 15k, it pains me to know that I am putting miles on it when I take it out, but it is too hard to resist driving it! Ah the hell with it, just drive it and enjoy it.

They are meant to be enjoyed and I'm an idiot not to but I cant bring myself to drive it. Come to think of it, it has gotten a little dusty sitting in my garage, time to shine her up! :D

167K fun miles checking in. You should play catch up!
In another 15-20 years when most of the drivers have become parts cars, the all original, premo, low mileage Marauders will be sought after... No they will never be valued like a Cobra Stang but will no doubt be a collector car, still don't plan on retiring on the future sale...

Where are the floor mats? I see inside the interior and even the trunk, but no mats.
The vehicle last had minor warranty work in 2006 with just over 5,000 miles according to the dealership in PA.

It wasnt until I joined this forum that I was told how valuable the mats are...
I chalked it up to my inexperience in dealing with rare cars. I normally get people asking for pictures of the feet area. With the MM, I got more questions about the mats!

If you buy a car for resale value, you will never enjoy it. I buy a car because that's what I want to drive and plan to keep it til it drops. If it goes up in value, that a plus. Paid $28,700 with a $3000 rebate and a $500 union discount.

Strangest deal ever.
The interested buyer asked me to drop the car off at Manheim in PA. I took it through their post sales inspection, picked up payment and went home.
That was more than 2 weeks ago. Never heard from the buyer again...
I guess he got the car...:dunno:
