I think I may be the first one to have a bolt on version of the Kook's headers and x-pipe system. The headers and the rest of the system are beautiful and first rate. Thank you Nick! I had it installed and it sounds great! I am using Flowmaster 40 2 chambers and OEM resonator delete tips from Wes.

For the guys in Vegas, you'll get to see and hear the setup at our meeting tomorrow. I had it installed by Grog at Best Muffler Shop (Las Vegas Street Rod Repair) on 33 N. 21st Street (Freemont and 21st). It took about 6.5 - 7 hours and they did a great job.

Cool! Could you tell us about performance improvements?

And, can you reveal costs for the Kook's system and labor?

(We have a performance muffler shop here in Anderson, and I "think" I can trust them to do it right.)

Great job Don! I am psyched to get home and get started on mine. I ordered the 'bolt on style', and believe the prices were the same give or take some change. Let us know your further impressions on the magna flows as I may, say may, skip that part.

about performance gains yet, since I haven't installed the Kook's exhaust(I plan on performing the install Thanksgiving weekend), but since I've already purchased this set up, I can list the cost. BTW, if you look in the Kook's forum, you'll see that LOGAN has listed some member prices for the Kook's components. But keep in mind those prices applied before Kook's designed the "Bolt-on" exhaust kit, so it might be a bit more now. However I've purchased that kit, and have also purchased the 18" straight-through design Magnaflow mufflers from them that Nick at Kook's recommends. The complete kit including the Magnaflow mufflers is about $1600 which includes ceramic coating of the headers, and shipping. Ofcourse shipping charges will likely vary depending on where you live. This set-up is called a "Bolt-on" kit, and it is for the most part, however it isn't completely a bolt-on kit if you purchase the mufflers too. The two things that you'll have to get welded are the rear muffler flages to the tailpipes, and the hanger rods to the mufflers. But other than that, everything else(Headers,Hi-flow cats, X-pipe, & muffler pipes) are all true bolt-on applications. Don't forget that you'll need to give Nick at Kook's your member# here on the board to get that price.

The performance of the Kook's system is great. I met with the Marauder guys in Las Vegas yesterday. With five of us in the car they all thought my car was quite a bit faster than a stock Marauder with just a driver.

However, the Kook's system does highlight the need for lower gears in the Marauder. The Marauder starts making power above 3000 rpm. The Kook's system makes power down low but the power boost at 3000 rpm is very apparent now. The gears will help the car get in the power band much faster. I plan to go with 4.30's.

The stock Marauder runs great with the Kook's system but I think it needs a chip to make it run perfect. The mixture could be richened up a bit now to go with the better flow of the exhaust.

As far as pricing goes my system was 1408.68 shipped from New York to Las Vegas. It included ceramic coated headers, high flo cats, bungs for the o2 sensors, and a very nice x-pipe. I already had Flowmaster 40's so we just welded to the x-pipe. Kook's gives you EVERYTHING you need from the Mufflers forward. Most of the guys have gone with Dynomax 14 or 18 inch mufflers. Installation was about $450.00.

I've spent just under $2000.00 on my exhaust including install of the Kook's system, flowmasters, and OEM resonator delete tips. Was it worth it? YES!

the air/fuel mixture needing to be richer due to a less restrictive exhaust system, it's been my understanding that any electronic fuel injection system automaticaly adjusts for that. Unlike carburetors that have to be re-jetted when headers are installed.
