Well just got home from work but ran into a guy in a 3 series that made the ride go by a little quicker. It wasn't the latest edition but like a early to mid 2000s model. I'm cruising along windows down because it's a nice brisk 80°, probably doing about 50-55 and this guy in the 3 series comes tearing up and past me. I have some open road so a goose it a bit to play catch up, then the guy starts acting like a complete ass and is cutting in/out through traffic ahead of me. I let off and return to cruising because it's fun to play when its me at risk but not when there is traffic.

So I cruise along with traffic, through a few intersections; people turn off and I end up behind Mr 3 Series at the light before the bridge I take home everyday. I can't get next to him because of a Ryder/Uhaul truck was there 1st and the other lane turns off in less than a 1/4 mile .

He sees me in the rear view and mashes it when the light turns green, leaving with a nice squeal. I of course oblige him as I know I have been asked to dual. We have about mile and half run before the bridge with no exits or turn ons, and then a little more than a 1/2-3/4 a mile to the hump in the center of the bridge. It is a safe fun spot to open it up and let the exhaust sing since you can see the the whole distance. Plus the Uhaul was left at the light so I had the lane all to myself.

I change lanes; goose it to get even with him, we are doing about 80 at this time. I get even, look over at him and see him looking over at me or the Merc w/his mouth open. I wave, punch it just leaving him behind, walking him by car lengths. By the time I let off at around 125-130 I was about 6-8 cars lengths ahead of him and still adding space. The bridge hump was coming up quick and you never know whats on the other side as far as traffic or cops go.

I slowed so I was doing about 70-75 (speed limit 55) by the time I hit the top where I could see over and decided if I wanted to hit again. I get to the hump but stay off the gas to see if he wants to play some more since I still see him coming. Once he saw I wasn't into the gas anymore he let off and stayed about 4-5 cars back until the intersection at the end of the bridge. He had the chance to get next to me but didn't. I even changed lanes at the next stop light but he stayed back by my rear doors and wouldn't pull up next to me. He pretty much stayed back for the next 2-3 lights until I turned off for coffee.

Even more fun when there's a cute chick laughing in the passenger seat of the Bimmer! They do get shamed easy!

I didn't really want to start a new thread, but I shat on a 3 series today from a 15 mph roll. I wasn't even planning on doing anything, but he decided it was time to go, so we had at it up to about 50 (45mph speed limit, so I don't like to push it...).

I was manually shifted into first, and I think that's the only reason I pulled ahead. He was cool about it though, gave a concession wave after we finished. I was just happy to beat someone in something they started.

I was manually shifted into first, .
next time take off the O/D and let the computer manage your trans, it will last longer that way. and never manually shift into second.

That's usually the case, I just happened to be in first because I usually roll around downtown that way. Max speed down there is 15-20mph on the pedestrian heavy streets, so I keep it in first. It gives the car that loud, healthy, throaty sound, so I like it.

I was heading out of DT and was just about to put her in D and this dude decided to get some. And since it was from about a 15 mph roll, I was already at ~2k rpm, so I got response a lot faster and proceeded to take a giant schlit on this guy. You know better than I, but in that case, I actually think it was a stroke of luck that I was manually in first simply because it wasn't from a dead stop. Had I been in D, I would have already been in 2nd and it would have taken that extra time to downshift when I goosed it.

I completely believe you about the way to do it, that just happened to be the circumstance!

Way to represent the Marauder Phil, it did its job and put him in his place were he belongs. I love stories of american muscle destroying the forien car market.
