Ok guys, riddle me this: my daily driver is an 09 Grand Marquis LS that is currently running Michelin Energy LX4 P225/60R17's on 17x7 inch stock aluminium wheels. I have always wanted better wheels and today I bought a slightly used set of 17x8 Ford Mustang Bullit wheels, P/N 7R33-1007CA. I was told they came off an 07 Mustang so Im pretty sure they will fit. My question is will my Michelins that are on my 7 inch wide wheels fit on my new 8 inch wide wheels or is it now tire buying time? The Michelins only have 16k miles on em and look brand new, I hate to have to get rid of them. Any advice is appreciated. Jim

There is someplace where you can check you tire size for what range size rims they will fit before you need to change....just can't remember where I saw that info.....darn......

Try checking the Michelin website, they usually show the range of wheel widths that a particular tire will fit. Or try tire rack for the same info.

Man what a day so far. I never knew something as simple as damn lugnuts could be such a hassle nowadays. This am I was all ready to go pick up some lugnuts then get my new wheels installed. Went to the nearby Ford dealer first, no chrome lugnuts in stock. Went to Autozone. All they had were those sets that have the one locknut included. I dont want a lock nut. If I bought that set, they did have a separate set of 4!!!!???? and no single lugnuts. Went to the closest OReilly and this crazy broad gets all kind of attitude as it was clearly evident she had no idea what I was looking for when I explained the wheels I wanted the lugnuts for were going on a different car, I guess she was more used to looking stuff up on a pc, seeing if they had any and that it. OReily also had those exact same "sets" with the one unwanted locknut. Went to the Goodyear where I planned to get them mounted, they dont stock wheels or chrome lugnuts, he directed me to Discount Tire a few miles away. Went there, they didnt have any cause the guy got on the phone to Auto Zone so I left. Went to a different OReilly and they had six (6) in stock!!!! The lady there said every OReilly only stocks six 1/2 inch 20 acorn chrome lugnuts and if I oordered them they would be in by 2:30 I never knew what a hassle this would be, in the olden days there was usually a bin chock full of those f----rs but not anymore I guess. So here I wait til 2:30. Argghhhhh.

I used to do the auto parts store hop, go 8 places to find 20 lug nuts and then they wouldn't match exactly either. Now I just order them on rockauto ahead of time so I can get a full set and pick the style and chrome vs. stainless if I want. Auto parts stores suck because they never inventory their loose lug nut trays often or correctly enough and then the computer won't order the right quantity.

The center caps on my bullitt wheels have Ford logos that look ok but I saw these center caps with the more appropriate Mercury logo and Im wondering if they will fit. Just measured the ones on my wheels and it looks to me like a 2.5" centercap and thats whet these are; anybody out there already done this? This is the Mercury centercap:

Ford sells the Bullitt wheels as an accessory on the Milan. I would call a L-M dealers part department and ask for the part umber for the center cap, it has the mercury logo.
