So the show is only one week away. :woohoo: I need to start preparing my car so it's up to car show quality. Since my car is an un-garaged daily driver, this is going to take some work. Not to mention, I have to do everything around my work schedule. I figured that by posting a schedule of what I need to do on here, it will help me stick to the schedule. I have three days off between now and the show. Today (friday), Monday, and Thursday. Here's my plain.

Fri, May 28th:
1. Wash exterior DONE
2. Wax exterior, except hood (read on to find out why) DONE
3. Clean/Dust dashboard and center console DONE
4. Get Sparta control arms installed at friends shop after he closes at 6:00pm Rescheduled DONE

Mon, May 31st:
1. Go to Pep Boys; buy a can of red caliper paint and that cotton metal polish stuff DONE
2. Degrease engine bay and shine it up DONE
3. Remove rims and touch up red calipers with a fresh coat of paint DONE
4. Polish the grime out of the inside of the rims with metal polish while they're off the car. (I know the polish can't be used on the front of the rims since it's powder coated clear.) DONE
5. Reinstall rims DONE

Thurs, June 3rd:
1. Wash car again
2. Use rubbing compound on Marty-o fender badges to remove a white cloudiness that formed DONE MONDAY
3. Tape off area around fender badge DONE MONDAY
4. Spray a coat of clear on fender badge DONE MONDAY
5. POLISH THE S**T OUT OF MY HOOD since the clear coat looks like crap and is turning white
6. Wax hood and stare at hood with regret :bigcry: (I'm probably going to get the hood repainted after Carlisle.)
7. Vacumm interior
8. Wash inside glass
9. Pack

I think that's everything. Now I got to go get started. See everyone next week. :D

 You sound like me all hyped up and worried about over all appearance goign around so many Marauders. I even got K&N to send me a new Carb Free sticker because the old one was pealing away and deformed.

Wish I could do more but I have to deal with it.

My schedule this year - wash/vac/liquid clay bar and Poor Boys....

Hose down the engine and hit it w/ something semi-glossy and wipe down...

Then, head for PA next week...

This instead of prior years where the car was not allowed out until spring,
wheels off/nooks - n - cranny detail up/under/front/back....dressing on every inch
of rubber, paint with 3 or 4 steps of buff and polish....THEN DRIVE TO PA IN A
FRIGGIN RAIN STORM ON FRIDAY AND END UP WITH A BROWN MARAUDER....:mad2:

Proceed to swallow pride and try not to account for the lost time and start
up my bucket 'o suds at the wash stalls at the Carlisle showfield and draw
some form of clean and shine out of the car.....

Yes, yes....this year is going to be different!

Nobody can predict weather more than 24 hours in advance. I'll drive my car in the rain as long as there is a tent!

Did the oil change today and had them take a look to make sure no leaks any where or problems @ the dealership.

They gave me the oil change for free so I can't beat that deal!! :bows:

They said it was a thank you for getting another vehicle sold through them last week. A Certified 2007 Mercury Mountainier to my friend Joe.

Weather forecast is the usual for the FORD Carlisle event.

HOT, humid and a good chance of thunderstorms....:(
I hope that the lower lying show area that we are assigned doesn't become a mud pit.

Last year I got rained on while driving up to Carlisle in my freshly cleaned Marauder.
I was going to detail my Marauder this afternoon, but most likely will get rained out by T-storms.

I used to love prepping my cars for a car show,
but I'm getting too old to sweat my azz off washing and waxing only to have my work erased by a rainstorm.

I think that I'll just park the dirty Marauder, sit back with a 'chilly one' and enjoy hanging out with old friends and meeting new members!

I'll sit with you Joe and we can make mud pie land mines for the unsuspecting CV's that may cruise by...
