IIRC, Terry was planning to make these (I was going to get one for my Eaton swap) but he had problems with leakage under pressure, so he dropped the project.

Im assuming he chromed where the O ring sits or it caused a high spot and wouldnt seal?
I so want one and have been looking around for a option. The powdercoated silver one didn't make the cut.

Yeah, Terry's set up was slick, he had two versions, one was stainless and I think the other was aluminum, both were fabbed from (seamless?) rolled stock and were layed up and welded (heliarced) in a fixture, but for whatever reason, he couldn't get fitment right to prevent leakage under pressure.

Too bad, they would have been a great option especially for the Eaton swap cars..

Polish the stock metal one and clear coat it so it doesn't rust. I might be able to work up a sample sometime.

I'd just drop off the OEM steel COT at a chrome plating shop and be done with it.

I bet Jake can recommend a good shop!

That's not a big secret. Mark (FastMerc) has actual chrome parts on his car.
My upper intake, fluid caps and coil covers are polished aluminum and my cam covers are powder coated chrome.

i know, its just a pet peve of mine when people call it chrome. the difference between polished and chrome is night and day.

Mild steel can be polished as nice as chrome, the problem is keeping it from rusting within 15 minutes or so...

Today I plan to try polishing out a crossover tube. I have some strong metal polish and a wheel. I also have clearcoat to seal it.
I also plan on polishing a upper intake lid and if it don't take a whole weekend to pull it off, I may offer a exchange program.
