So after last night I decide to head down to advance auto in Bluffton Sc, and purchase autolite 104's double plat. after paying for the plugs I go back in to get some anti seize and thats when it start. The guy at the counter insist that its a waste of money and there is no real reason to even use the stuff. He claim there are more misfires and damages by using anti seize than anything. After the 5 min conversation I left heading back home. So have any of you had problems using ant-seize or know anyone that had misfortunes using it. I know with anti seize its best to torque at the lowest possible setting which most of us are doing anyway. feedback please

I have NEVER heard of an issue and he is in the wrong for telling that to a customer.

That's just wrong. Find another auto store to visit. Think about it the antisieze is on the threads of the plug not in the firing chamber... This guy sounds dumb enough to put antisieze on the tip of the plug. You should have gotten the XP104's. BTW did he give you the $2.00 per plug rebate sheet?

Actually, the guy is not completely wrong. If used sparingly, it's not a problem, but if too much is used AND you don't use a torque wrench, it *can* cause issues in the mod motors due to the low thread count in the head. Anti-seize acts as a lubricant and makes it easier to over-torque the plug and damage the threads, resulting in a plug blow-out.
