Wow, that's odd. I can turn my key back to accessory all day and listen to the stereo with the A/C blowing ice cold. I don't even need the engine running!! Are we having a reality lapse here?

Not true.......

Then you must have a special modified wiring for your control that USED TO work in the accessory position.

They only work in the key on position from the factory. Every vehicles I have ever own or driven (Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Mitsubishi, Jeep, Chrysler, Nissan, BMW, Infinity, Toyota, Honda, Ford, Mercury) never had the HVAC controls that worked in the key accessory position.

How can your A/C be blowing ice cold when your engine is not turning the A/C compressor?

The "autostart". Remote start system I'm guessing?

That explained your special modified wiring .

I gotta chime in here, in my Marauder and back when I had a Galant both vehicles would allow controlling the A/C with just the accessory position set. Neither cars would allow these to work particularly efficiently, but they did work.

No special modifying... when you turn you key, the first click fwd should turn on you a/c and radio

So you're saying you can have the key just in the accessory position and not ignition on and you're able to run your HVAC fan blower?

Do me a favor, can you please go out to your car and confirm this and let us know the make & model?

I had already been out to three of my vehicles a half hour ago ('03 Marauder, '07 G35x, '05 Explorer) and none of them are able to run the HVAC fan blower with the key in the accessory position. Only radio, windows and wiper.

The first click backward (CCW) is the accessory position.

When the "autostart" system was installed, the control box for it had to be wired in such a way that it's able to bypass power from the keyswitch to feed your ignition/engine running circuits so that it can supply power to the ignition, fuel pump, PCM, accessory and most importantly, HVAC controls without having to turn the ignition switch on.

If you turn the key and you get dashboard warning lights on, that's ignition on and not accessory only.

one click forward is not ACC, one click back is.

I didn't realize this thread was a joke. Shouldn't it have been in the Joke of the Day thread? I thought the OP was looking for technical advice. Wow! You're hilarious!

I just LMFAO!
