A friend asked me yesterday about the Marauder engine vs. the Mustang Cobra engine.
Minus the blower...what's the difference?

I believe the Cobra has a forged bottom end & the intake in on the wrong side.

So they're not really the same?
I understood that the Marauder engine was ALL aluminum; where the Cobra had and iron block. ??
What are the above quoted differences?

This thread smells like somebody knows a really good deal on a Cobra engine or is about to do something dumb.

Cobra has this:
Pistons for 8.5 compression forged
forged rods
forged crank
cast steel block for strength. (2003-2004 only)
Marauder has this:
Pistons for 10:1 compression (some say 10.1:1) hypereutectic
powdered metal rods
cast crank
aluminum block

I believe the Marauder engine more closely resembles the 03/4 Mach 1 engine

I think your thinking of the 03-04 Lincoln Aviator. That also had the 32 valve 4.6
Pistons for 8.5 compression
forged rods
forged crank
cast steel block for strength. (2003-2004 only)
add to the list
2 bolt main cap
8 bolt fly wheel
larger wrist pins
forged steel crank
