Repolishing a stock rim?

Does anyone have any information on having one of our stock rims repolished to remove some minor swirls and surface scratches? I am curious to know approximately how much it would cost to repolish and reclearcoat one. Has anyone either had this done or priced it?

I believe, believe....that when I had mine done, I also inquired about high polishing a spare, and that it was about $140-$160 each or so. I can call them later this week if you like.

If you wouldnt mind asking, I would appreciate the info. The rims are in decent shape except for some minor scuffs or swirls. I dont think it will take much work to polish them back and re clearcoat them. I bought a set of four rims, the back rims and tires are in perfect shape and are going on my car tomorrow if I get a chance. I will be removing my original rear tires and rims to ship out and get widened for Nittos, my stock back tires are slicks now anyway! However, the front rims I just got have the imperfections and surface scratches I want to investigate having fixed, and the rubber on them is close to 90% intact, so I have some spare front tires too. Visited the Arlington Heights location yesterday, got a tour of the plant. These guys do a lot of custom work, and their repairs seem flawless. All the correct tools are on hand, and they have about 5000 wheels in stock. I looked over some samples of both repairs and custom builds, I'm very impressed.

I dropped off one damaged rim I bought from a wreck, and my unpolished spare wheel. The damaged rim will cost 109.00 to repair, and I added a 30. option to have the inside polished and clearcoated too. I'll be taking all of my wheels in to have the insides polished and clear coated.

They said the turn around time on the unpolished rim would be two weeks, so, I asked him how much to replace it with my unpolished wheel trade in? 109.00.

Look 'em up, it's the best price I found on this kind of work.

GREAT POST/LINK, SARGE! THANKS! Finally, a local shop (they have only one location in Los Angeles, but at least they have ONE!) that's QUALIFIED to do the work I've been needing to do on my rims for months (that median came out of NOWHERE, I SWEAR!).

Thanks, I found a place in LA, but have not checked them out yet.

A friend restores corvettes and lives near the rim repair place. When he checks them out I will report back.
