now i know it aint a marauder but seeing as its pretty much the same engine maybe someone can help. i have a 1994 lincoln mark viii with a problem. first its has a rough missing idle then when i go to give it gas it shudders and shakes until about 2000 RPMs and it feels like it has no power at all. its got new plugs, wires, and coils. if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated

Was it doing it before you changed the plugs and stuff?

Fuel Filter? Vacuum Leak?

a lot of times with a vaccum leak you'll have a rough idle or youre rpms will go up and down at idle, like every three or 4 seconds

Double check all the spark plug connections, something could of possibly came loose over that time from vibration.

There is an old addage concerning spark ignition engines: if you have spark, fuel conpression, all at the correct time the engine (cylinder) will run. Check and verify each in turn to troubleshoot. Try to identify conditions that could affect each condition such as cylinder compression, as was [reviously mentioned earlier mass air flow sensor, loose electric commections at plugs, coils, injectors, etc. It couls be infintile component failure fo coil or plug, or mechanical component failure within the engine. A dtc scan may be quite helpful. Good Luck!!!

I'd say, like the others have mentioned, check your basics. Make sure all your air intake connections are tight. Double check your plugs, coils and all. Check all your fluids. Check all the electrical connects under the hood. Sloppy ground connections play havoc with Ford products.

How many miles are on the car? What was the condition of the plugs when you took them out? Did you maybe bottom the car out and crushed a pipe or maybe have a clogged catalytic converter? Does your transmission have enough fluid?

Hope this helps.

well today i changed my plugs form champion to motorcraft, it idles smoother but its still kinda rough, and still has hesitation and vibration while accelerating, not as bad as before though. next change wires and coils back to motorcraft? cause I've heard that accel's are ****, that's the kind of coil i have on there now
