Chaos Journey

I've decided to make a website for putting up my pictures in a more presentable fashion. Every so often I have people ask for a way to see my pictures, but I really don't have a way to do that without emailing them or whatever.

So, I came up with Chaos Journey. It's a play on my initials "CJ". I just started the website today, so it doesn't really have much on it, but I figured I'd put it up now and get feedback before I get too much into it.

I'll tell you up front I know next to nothing about web design, so the whole thing is probably going to stay pretty simple. Plus, I don't really like websites with a bunch of excess crap all over them, I'm simply providing a medium for showcasing my pictures.

I also need ideas for what to put on the front page. I suck at writing about myself, and I don't really know what to put. Any help would be appreciated! :)

I'm lovon' it all! I dig the website Chaos Journey/Chuck Jones... pretty cool! May I suggest title names for each picture (Ex: Marauder v. Impala "The Face Off")... I don't know just an idea.

The gallery I'm using doesn't really support that option, but I'll see if I can work it in somehow. I like the idea of being able to caption the pictures.

Haha yeah... if only! There is so much competition out there I'd never want to actually rely on photography to put food on the table. It's definitely fun though. :)

Thanks! I'd like to do more of those sometime. That was just an impromptu thing where I spotted the Impala at the local Auto-X event.

I'd like to do some where I can pan farther back and get the whole of both cars. The problem is that black Impala SS's are about as rare as MM's around here, so I might have to wait a while before I get the chance to get it. Maybe I'll have better luck up in New York.

Maybe some day once my tallents are honed and I get more pictures of other stuff that would work for me as well.

But you have some awsome pictures of a lot of differnt things and that is what most look for.

Every single one of those pictures has been taken in the last year. It doesn't take long to build up a large collection when you just get out there and shoot. I last estimated my photo collection in the 20,000 range.

I like the site because anyone can see it, unlike other sites where you need a membership, or there are ads everywhere.

Yes I can see anyone getting that many photo's easily! But so many of them have to go bye bye that just are not what you are looking for in the shot.

I toss a lot more than I keep that is for sure.

Without any numbers to back it up, but just based on my observations as I've gone along, I use 1 out of every 50-75 pictures I take. Most of the others are usually me trying to get a feel for how I want to shoot and messing with settings.

On the plus side, I've been noticing that with more experience, I've been getting the shot I want in fewer tries, ultimately making less work in the long run of not having to sort through a plethora of crap.
