Hard shift into 2nd gear

I have a 2003 with just under 75,000 miles on it. The transmission has developed a fairly hard shift from 1st to second gear, but the other shifts are fine. I've had the transmission fluid exchanged twice, including recently, but I've not ever dropped the pan or replaced the filter. I could do this now, but is it likely to help, or should I just take it in?

How do you replace the fluid but not drop the pan and change the filter? I'd change all fluid and filter!

You may have a problem with your 1-2 shift accumulator sticking some, do you also have a delay when its shifting into second ?

And yes drop the pan, clean the pan and change your filter, its really easy to do and could save you from getting a new trans !

Sears. They have an exchange machine that connects to the cooling lines and sucks old fluid out one side and replaces it with fresh fluid into the other.

better you replace the filter to clean the oil and save the part inside the trans for better per and acc and evan shifting i replace the filter every 25k with the oil it cheap and save the trans and i ask afriend he say all the problem in the trans couse the owner never change and replace the filter you change the oil without you replace the filter you do something without apoint if you change the filter you will see dirty and close filter for this reasone the shifting is bad

i recommand you change the filter and the oil and don't forget you change the seal for the cover of the trans
