I saw this Maryland plate on the highway last Saturday and it DOES NOT look as good as I thought it would. The red and blue really do not stand out and the numbers/lettering are kinda difficult to read (although some might think that is an advantage). Of course, the car that it was on had a license plate frame that obscured the edges of the plate. Maybe it looks better without the frame.

So my first hand impression after actually seeing it is

That's not as bad as the new NY plates.

There trying to go retro and bring back the NY plates we had in the 70's. You have to see them in person to know how ugly they are. When I first saw the pic online I thought "Cool, retro." It's more of a dark orange in person than it is in that picture. It was originally suppose to be a mandatory re-issue to everyone, but due to public outcry of how bad they look, their letting us keep our old plates and only giving the new plates to new registrations. Now we have both plates on the road at the same time and it just looks bad.

They look TERRIBLE! I wanted to get vanity plates for my car but I haven't done it because I know that if I do I get the nasty orange plates :puke:

That's what I've always thought, they should do the blue crab. I mean we got Farmer's and Chesapeake Bay tags.

I'll just stick to my regular white plates with marylandstate.org written on the bottom because those new ones look like azz. Maybe DC should get them. Oh and the orange NY tags are disgusting. My dad will keep his blue empire state ones and I don't blame him.

Saw one of these in MA the other day. Had to speed up to see what state it was... I was pretty surprised to see NY... They look like School Bus plates here in MA!
