Hey folks,

I have two simple (to some) questions.

1. I have a real autometer oil pressure gauge to install. Do I need to replace the sending unit or can I just replace the gauge in the car?

2. Thanks to Zack, I have a SCT2 with a tune. Ah, I have never used a tuner, how do I use it?

I was searching the site, but I could not find answers, probably because you all are smarter than me!

Thanks!
Anthony

First, I believe you have to tap into your oil pan to get the gauge fully functional..(someone correct me if wrong)

Second, Did you load the tune from your PC to the XCal2? If you did, simply connect the tuner to the car's OBDII port to the right of the steering wheel right above your right shin. And follow the on screen instructions.

Correcting.....

Remove old oil press "switch" thats right next to the oil filter and insert new sending unit into said hole....

Theres a how-to in the shop section

You need to replace the sending unit and the gauge.

Connect the tuner to the OBDI II port, to the right of the steering column. There should be directions on the tuner screen.

Anthony, you just need to replace the oil pressure switch, which is mounted to the oil filter adapter, with the supplied sender. You can reuse the factory white/pink wire...no need to run a separate one.

Thank you for the help. Musclemerc, when I understand how to read a datalog, I will take you up on the offer. For now, I will install the tune Zack put on for me and enjoy it.

I am installing an oil pressure gauge, so replace the sending unit and gauge.

Both seem really easy to do and should be done Wed/Thur along with the fuel filter install.

Thanks!
