View Full Version : Another blue one bites the dust; need parts

A little over a week ago my wife spun out Blue Marauder #231 and hit a tree. The insurance company is going to "total" it out but they may let me keep the remains if I take a settlement less the salvage value. Before I make this decision, I wanted to find out if anyone is interested in purchasing the car. The car had 47,600 miles on it and had never been out in the snow. All mechanical parts were untouched by the accident. The rear bumper, right side doors, right front fender, hood, trunk, and most of the interior is still in very good condition. It must be picked up in Northwest Ohio. Anyone interested can contact me at SKP369@Aol.com.

WOW, that looked very scary from the impact that poor car took. I hope everything is fine at home and wish her a quick recovery if she isn't.

Center console trim if it has a clock cutout!

Blues don't have clocks. Only 300A's, which were exclusively black.

What condition is the front grill in? I don't care if it has some damage. A damaged front grill would make a perfect parts donor to make a badgeless grill. I never did like the idea of destroying a good grill to make one.

Thank-you so much for your concern. My wife spent four days in ICU with a colasped lung but she is on the mend. My origninal plan was to sell the whole car if the insurance settlement came in low. I am waiting on the insurance company to give me the settlement value and the settlement value less the salvage value. When I get these figures in the next several days (maybe weeks), I will let you all know. There seems to be several people interested. In the next few days, I will take a few more photos and post them.

Oh almost forgot, the grill is still in relatively good shape. The force of the impact on the side shot it out but appears to be only scratched.

Ack! Anyway good to see she's recovering. Good thing that tree or whatever hit as far back as it did. Here's hoping for as positive an outcome as possible for her recovery and your insurance settlement.

I am sorry about the wife and hope she is starting to feel better.

I also have a blue one. I can't take the whole car but if someone wants to buy it I could use all the special "blue" parts plus interior parts and some others. So if someone wants to part the car and wants mostly mechanical and regular cv/gm body and and doesn't particularly need the parts I want, they can contact me and perhaps we can work out a mutual deal.

why the hell didnt the side airbag go off?
Wondering that myself. I'm not familiar where the sensors are and what angle / force / sequence factors are involved in deploying those.

Again thank-you all for you concern. My wife is on the mend. Insurance totaled the car out. They wanted just way too much money to allow me to have the salvage remains. I will miss my Marauder. I bought new just after Christmas in '03. It was the best car I have ever owned and I had some nice ones. My new 2010 Taurus SHO arrives in a couple days! I hope no one will frown at me if I go to Marauder events in a SHO. I hope I am still an honorary member. Thanks Again!

Here's hoping the new SHO is a good substitute. Totally different kind of car I suspect, but a great choice...I'm pretty sure you'll be welcomed at Marauder events.

Yes, that's the car on Copart.com. Let's see if they get the $4000 that they would charge me if I salvaged it. It is covered with much more dirt than in my photos. The motor was super clean before the accident. FYI, the rear axle is not broken. The wheel was knocked off the spring.
