NY/NJ/CT December get-together

Time to start thinking about a local meet in December for NY, NJ, CT (and area) marauderers!

Proposed dates are Sunday 12/7, Saturday 12/13, or Sunday 12/14. Proposed location is Bennigan's on Executive Blvd. in Yonkers, NY, off the Saw Mill River Parkway. Proposed start time is 12 noon.

So after you've had all the turkey you can stand, please give it some thought and post your availability here. Let us know all the dates you can do, in case we want to have a snow date (dreaded word).

I propose that if it plays out that folks are just too busy in December with holiday activities and such, we can think about a January meet instead, when life seems a little slower.

But let's try for December so we can toast the holidays, each other, and the Marauders!

BDJ has said he is partial to Sunday. Maybe we should ask all which day is better for them as some people work on weekends as well. Anybody have a preference to Sat the 13th or Sun the 14th?

Here's the 411 on our get-together:

Sunday, December 14th
12 Noon
Bennigan's Restaurant
2 Executive Boulevard
Yonkers, NY 10701 (although it might really be 10703)
914-966-1100

Executive Blvd. is Exit 9 off the Saw Mill River Parkway. If you're driving North on the Saw Mill, Exit 9 will be a jug-handle off to the right, then cross over the parkway (as if you were making a left off the pkwy). If you're driving South on the Saw Mill, Exit 9 is just a right-hand turn.

Once you're on Executive Blvd. just continue straight up the hill, around the curve, past the water tower, and you'll see Bennigan's on the left.

Just don't confuse Saw Mill River Road (Rt. 9A) with the Saw Mill River Parkway. The "road" runs parallel to the parkway (east of the pkwy).

Tomorrow or Sunday? If weather is going to be snow and ice, lower westchester is not the best place to be (they use solar snow removal, less strain on the budget), either way I will try to get there. I'd like to put faces to screen names. I'll check back tonight.

Mother nature is not cooperating. Prediction for Sunday is snow starting about 9 A.M., then possibly turning into sleet or freezing rain. Precipitation supposed to continue thru Monday morning. So it's looking like the get-together for Sunday is cancelled. Do y'all agree?

Seems like most folks don't care to go maraudering in the snow and ice. I agree. @%&&$# snow! Had enough last weekend.

A couple of folks expressed interest in possibly meeting on Saturday 12/13. If anyone seriously wants to do that, please do a post here so we can get an idea of how many.

I can stop by Bennigan's on Saturday after I bring the MM in for service in the morning.

So if you think you want to do Saturday, please post.

Either way, we'll starting working on dates for January. The weather has to be good some time!
