Just curious if there are any products on the market that will make the car shake less at 160mph. I am thinking of taking it to a track that's a few miles long that would allow me to make it up to that speed. The problem is at 140 the car shakes a lot and I know it's due to the stock driveshaft. I wanted to know what I needed to upgrade to keep it smooth.

I would like to keep my stock shocks and springs if possible, but please inform me on what needs to be done. Everything the right way too.

I'm very curious.

Thanks.

If you "know" its the drive shaft, then why ask about struts & springs?? :shake::shake:

Just replace it. :shake::shake:

Get your stock drive shaft balanced, good time to check out the universal joints as well. A tip for high speed driving is to use near bald tires, seems deep tread upsets the harmonics at high speed. Go for it!

Dom,
Serious question: Why are you limiting yourself to only 160?
Why not run 180 or even 200 mph?

Don't the tracks a mile or more long require a roll bar?

That I am not sure of, but at the salt flats it requires one at 130mph, so I would assume so.... unless I find one of those anarchy tracks that you just pay to get in and that's that.

Fastblackmerc, I wasn't sure of the driveshaft is the only reason why the car shakes, that's why I asked.

Joe, I don't wanna change my gear again and I don't think I wanna do 200 in a car like ours. Heck 200 in anything I don't think I have the guts to do.

Have al wheels PROPERLY balanced for high speed too. You have stock rotors?

by the time i hit over 140mph i start thinking of all the stuff that could go wrong.
then let off. our cars arent made for that kind of speed.
